Brady's shoulder and the back up QB situation

Do people forget that the Pats left Brady off the injury report last year and one of the reports called the Patriots and asked why he wasn't on it because he was always on it and about a half an hour later the Pats released an adendum to their list with Brady as probable with a shoulder injury. Brady's shoulder is fine.

As for Brady missing a portion of practice this week, it was probably a defensive oriented day and they let Brady have a rest. The Pats do that all the time with players when the focus of the practice is on the other side of the ball.

hmmm - interesting theory... I had always thought Brady's shoulder "injury" might have had something to do with BB's disdain for the injury report...

I do find it odd that with all the guys sitting out of the pre-season with all kinds of injuries, and the kid gloves that they treated Maroney with that they'd just let Brady continue to go out and practice at training camp day after day after day irritating his chronically injured shoulder....

let me go back and check the stats to see how many games Brady's chronic shoulder injury has caused him to miss and how it's affected his performance and get back to you.
Ditto! The very reason I suspect why Brady is continually on the injury report and will continue to be as long as BB is coach.

I believe one of the reasons they kept a third QB this year is to limit the wear and tear on Brady. He can practice as much as he needs to get the offsense ready, no more.

Brady didn't have his normal superlative postseason last year. Was he run down? Was it the hits or the wear and tear on the arm? Probably a bit of all that. The one aspect that Brady and the Pats can truly manage is his in-season workload, so they are doing so.

He played and beat a superior Charger team in the playoffs. That was a tough game, but the three interceptions might have been a result of a tenacious defense. The Colts...well it wasn't Brady who tossed away that game. Hopefully no team will be able to go deep on us like the Colts did, but last night in Indianapolis, Manning showed himself to be strong, accurate, and deadly.

Harrison and Seymour will be missed.

Harrison and Seymour should both be back by the time we play the Colts in november thank god,so the schedule maker has been kind to us in that regard.

I think because Brady's shoulder can be a factor as games wear on so I would not be surprised to see Cassell out there in the later part of the second half of games we have pretty much dominated and are leading by 20 points or more if we have those types of games this year.

Holy CRAP. I know I've been a bit jerky lately, but that's been due, IMO, to an uptick in the "STUPID" quotient - as well as to the fiery heat wave that just cooled here in L.A. HOWEVER...it falls to me, apparently, to flame and shame this ridiculous, frantic, ABSURD thread.

Brady's shoulder is ALWAYS on the injury list. God, I can't believe this is even necessary. For the posters who have half a brain, I don't need to even say anything. This is a mongoloid thread.

I think this is a little worrisome.
The shoulder problem has been chronic and its not going away.
Brady has been listed on the injury report almost every week for three years.
I do not think this is just gamesmanship.

In view of the above, I wish the Patriots had a backup QB thta was a bit more proven. If the shoulder problem causes Brady to miss some time...putting the season in Matt Cassell's hands would be disastrous

Could you explain how it is anything BUT gamesmanship?

You say its "chronic" but what are you basing this off of? Just the fact that Brady has been on the list for 3 years?

As for the Pats at back-up QB. In all honesty, I think that Cassel would surprise a lot of people by how well he'd play.

patsox23 I think the thing you are not realizing is that fans in here are a bit worried because Brady had not played full practice and his shoulder was rumored to be the reason he did not practice all day yesterday.

It probably is meaningless propaganda from the media but this is the first time I can remember he missed some practice before a regular season game at least noticed by the media in several articles across the internet so maybe this is the reason this post was made.

Hopefully its just another BS thing and nothing to worry about as it has been in the past 6 years

Yes. Brady regularly "misses" parts of practice at the coach's discretion. In fact, by the letter of the law, any time Brady isn't taking snaps, he is "missing practice."

O.K. Probably so,I just don't remember seeing any articles regarding a missed portion of practice..maybe I missed them or just don't pay attention to practice articles.

Where did you see that Brady didn't practice yesterday? Reiss and Gasper reported everyone in attendance and that Brady's participation was limited. Which, as others have pointed out, could just mean that it was a defense oriented day.

Last year, it was a regular thing that Brady was reported to have missed a portion of practice.

I just said "missed a portion of practice, not all of practice" - go back and read that again.

When I say 'he didn't practice all day' it meant to be for the full days practice, not meaning all day long..you took it the wrong way I see which is understandable.

Of COURSE it's just another B.S. thing, I mean are you people F-ing kidding me? He has said - SINCE T.C. began - that as he gets older he is going to do a better job of managing how often he throws, etc... Add that to the fact that this is nothing new, and it AMAZES me that knowledgable Pats fans, yourself included, have ANY comment on this whatsoever.

As my wife will attest to, I failed mindreading 101. I can only go by what you post. You said "fans in here are a bit worried because Brady had not played full practice and his shoulder was rumored to be the reason he did not practice all day yesterday."

When someone says "his shoulder was rumored to be the reason he did not practice all day yesterday" its different than saying "his shoulder is rumored to be the reason he missed part of practice."

I can only take it the way you put it up.

You guys are perfect examples of how BB wants the sports writers, the other media, and the opposition to view the situation. Keep them confused and questioning the situation. It's all good.:rocker:

It's a tad warm and humid here today so forgive me if I say...it's been more than a bit..

I think those who already weighed in handled marcus thread with either reasoned response or good humor, although now that you and DB have arrived I expect verbal fisticuffs to break out and this absurd thread will take on epic proportions.

LOL, I certainly can't argue the "more than a bit." My apologies to the people who found themselves on the wrong end of my temper, with the caveat that if you just stop posting stupid crap, we'll get along just fine. ;)
