All... he... had... to do... was... signal... for a fair catch :(

Yep.. but I'd be more frustrated at whoever whiffed on their block on that one. It seemed like Dola assumed that there would be more time to attempt a return..

Grats to the Goat

Boos for Amendolas injury.

Boos for Bennett, coach said step up, not in it, but you sure did step in it today!

Head scratch for the offense, is this what we should expect with Gronk gone?

This is the type of game that we are supposed to win against an inferior opponent, yet a couple of injuries and a garbage time td at the end and suddenly it makes you wonder if we are really a dominant team?

Four relatively tough games left to answer that question.

Can they bring a receiver this late for depth? Amendola being hurt doesn't help. He had some nice catches.

If it's anyhing semi-serious I wouldn't be surprised if K. Martin might get a call to come by for a visit.

Rowe and Butler on sides and Ryan in slot. Maybe that is solution.
Kyle Van Noy emerges and waering green dot when Hightower absent.
But i said that i wont comment this defense untill playoff games.

Cyrus, cyrus...cant be another 2rd bust. Probably mental.

I know that probably all of you on this forum cant say nothing bad about offense, and probably will call me moron, but i still dont have a good feeling about this offense. Something missing. I am not talking about Gronk, but some smooth TD drives. Maybe because they dont play nohuddle much. Dont know why i have this strange feeling. Denver will be test for them.

For everybody who gets irritated when the announcers seem to root for the Pats' opponents in hope of a competitive game, Burkhardt and Lynch must have been music to your ears. It was pretty much a love letter to Brady & co. straight through. I imagine Rams fans put the tv on mute after a while. (Come to think of it, turning the set off might have served their nerves better. Goff really didn't impress.)

Best development of the day. Doesn't matter that the Rams suck, you have to pressure quarterbacks. Please please please keep it up.

I thought it was telling that at one point the announcer said that Goff was saying something like, "at least the Pats don't pressure much" or something. Have to turn that perception around. This was a good start.

Development of the day to me was LB play.
Maybe not as spectacular .. but very important esp. going forward. This was the last piece of D that needed to solidify and glue and today I could see that. Van Noy looking very comfortable in every aspect - even play calling when High was out - and confident in communication with High throughout. McClellin finally stepped up.
They looked like a very confidant, well communicated, energetic group today and thats great news going forward.

This was a nice call from Loyko ..

Ugh. Stay away from media this week. They are already starting the "RAVENS AIN'T SCARED TO GO TO GILLETTE STADIUM" narrative. Didn't they lose the last time they were here? It's a totally different team on both ends. Such a stupid narrative.

Mayo said something pretty interesting in the "ex-pats podcast" this week. Ryan is a good player but lacks the top end speed. He can do reasonably well against "slower" receivers like e.g. AJ Green. So he'd be the ideal player to be used with a safety on top against elite players. Similarly, he apparently also loves playing in the slot because this enables him to do things like well-disguised blitzes.

Van Noy directing the defense was also pretty important to see. Mayo also said that one of the issues that he sees the Pats D having is that Hightower right now has to do a lot of communicating and directing and sometimes things just get lost (e.g. reason for some of those 2 man rushes that are in fact blown assignments). So having another player who understands everything well enough to help Hightower communicating and directing other players can have a big trickle down effect on efficiency.

Sounds like a preview of the forum this week as well...

Not much to read from this game. The fact that BB started talking about the punter, tells you what he thought of this team. Pats did nothing exotic. just got out there with a win .Thats all matters. Amendola injury is a bummer.

Sounds like a setback for Slater. Rowe left with a hamstring.

Not necessarily (re Slater). He was pretty jumpy on the sidelines.
And I think I saw Rowe coming back in one snap towards the end of the game but not sure.

Not great but not that bad either if true..
