Yep. Middle of the line remains our most exploitable Achille's Heel. Andrews can be had by even nose tackles in pass pro and Mason isn't all that strong in pass pro either. That, NOT the CB play is the likely most worrisome (with some kicking game) aspect of this team into the second half. That, not a pass rusher, is what I'd like to see BB look for before the deadline.

So, some off the wall thinking...

Trade for Thomas
Move Solder to RT
Move Mason to C
Put Jackson at RG
Deal with the growing pains for the rest of the regular season
Profit come the playoffs

???

Okay. Disagreement it is then.

I don't know what you think he does well besides rushing the passer, so I don't really know where to go with this. Jones is poor against the run, particularly when it's right at him. Go take a look at where the Patriots attacked the Cardinals in the running game.

BTW, it's off topic, but did everyone see Sam Bradford revert to Sam Bradford today?

Looked to me like he spent a lot of time off Norv's script. He doesn't do improv all that well.

Since I haven't heard/seen any G or C on the 'market' it's something to consider. When was the last time we made a OL trade during the season? I can't recall one off hand.

Smart teams will be reminded that Bradford + pressure = barely better than a backup level QB

Mason looks like he is thinking too Much out there. He is a devastating run blocker But terrible in pass protection.

How long until karras replaces Andrews?

The defensive game plan with Ben in the game would have been COMPLETELY DIFFERENT , so how can you think that?
Ben at QB at home would have taken ADVANTAGE of the two fumbles in our territory AT HOME....and it would have been tough for us to get out with a W today.....How can you not Get that?!

Excellent question. I'm drawing a blank, too, at the moment.

I think I need to stay out of game day thread, it seems to take whatever anxiety I'm having about the game to a whole new level. lol

Mason can't play center. At all. Ever. The other three suggestions work. I salivate for Thomas. An O-line coach's dream.

He was better here than there because here they teach more gap discipline (string the play out and let the LBs and secondary clean up) on the DL, where there he can just penetrate to disrupt (different styles). He was good in zone drops as an elephant type end (he had a couple interceptions here if I recall) and excellent in opposite pursuit.

He's obviously not Seymour level - I'm not saying that, but he's not a one-trick pony either.

They just held one of the best offenses in the league to 16 points for Pete's Sake! We won the game in spite of 2 big turnovers! I get the frustration of their giving up big plays on 3rd and long but they're doing a pretty decent job keeping the other guys out of the endzone. Steelers only scored 1 TD!
Ok....but if you think this game would not have been different with A HEALTHY Ben R under center you are MISSING the most important point! Landry played really well in relief but walked away with FG on pretty much every drive....,Just would not have been the same with Ben in there... 2 fumbles deep in our territory and all they got thankfully were FGs....we were a bit lucky Rottenburger was out today..if you can't see that you are being naive

It was a great companion piece to the games at one point. Now it's it's too many people overreacting if the Patriots aren't up by 3 scores. And yes, I understand it's a place for knee jerk reactions, some KJR are just overboard...

Williams last year? Guess my memory purge didn't work. Let me amend to "starting caliber" OL.

Points Per Game: (Ignore the ranking on the left. It's for Point differential)

Yes, the entire game would've been - from game plan to execution. Would've been just as different with an outbreak of e-coli from the stadium bratwurst or a full out zombie apocalypse.

You play the team they field with the team you can. That's it. Revisionist history. The bastion of the disillusioned and deleterious.

I'm convinced you don't even watch the games.

He wasn't 'yanked' because he didn't start at CB#2 - Rowe did. Ryan was CB #3, but they went 3 safety (Chung, McCourty, Harmon) a lot of the game so he wasn't out there much except when the Steelers went four or five wide.
Clearly you don't watch the games or you don't comprehend what's going on. Ryan was replaced by Coleman as the 3rd CB in the 2nd half and didn't play again.

I think it just shows how spoiled we've all been with this team:)

I really would appreciate it if I never see Brandon Bolden take another offensive snap. Ever.

And he should probably remove his head from his sphincter on special teams...since it is the only reason for his roster spot.
