Defamegate was aimed at the Patriots because that was the only team that could get the NFL* front office out of the downward spiral of their decision making (from a media backlash perspective). Plus, we believe (ok, we know) the NFL* is run by a bunch of people who are/were JET fans.

It was a continuance of the push for Article 46 as well, but that was more a hail-mary situation as their evidence didn't amount to enough to really push the needle.

I see Goodell like college kids see RA's in dorm life. they are the objet of hate because they are enforcing the rules/wants of the school (or in the NFL*'s case, the owners). But, to do what he does, he has to be a man of unquestioned immoral-ness and willing to sell lies he may not even believe.

I'm not so sure. Unless they feel Brisett is the real deal how eager will they be to deal Jimmy? A bad team for multiple firsts, say 2 and a 2nd?
