Yeah loathe might have been a bit strong. But I was actually pretty happy to see a Deandre Carter thread up there for a bit. Guess that says it all.Dude, it's the off-season. Chill.
CR7 answered Messi's performance against USA with a stellar performance of his own scoring a brace and keeping his team in the tournament. Portugal tied 3-3 advanced to the knockout rounds
That Ronaldo guy looks like such a ****. I'm glad Portugal got eliminated.

oh wtf! I thought only the top 2 from each group advance?
(I don't watch soccer, I just happened to see that game)
They only have 6 roundrobin groups. So to get a round of 16, they have to take 4 of 6 third place finishers. Of course the thirds get matched up against a powerhouse group winner so Port should have a tough Match. Not sure who.
Why don't they just make the euro cup tournament a 32 team affair? 2 from each group?
Also there wouldnt be much point to the qualies the last 18 monthes if they took 32. but then maybe Gibralter would have had a moment in the sunThere really aren't 32 good European teams. In fact, it's greediness on the part of UEFA (really? who'd have thought it?) to expand to 24 from 16.
If he'd have scored his penalty during the week, he wouldn't have needed to try as hard today.....
But, that's what he's capable of. Portugal are a poor side without him. However the the big story of the game was the Hungarian performance overall. They were excellent.
Sadly they're still in, for now. He's a gigantic prima-donna (he's currently conducting a press conference where only a UEFA official is being allowed to ask him qustions, not the media) and that's what puts so many off him, which is a shame.
BritPat, I actually dont think Portugal are a poor side believe it or not..I thought that in 2012 and 2014, but not this year.
Ronaldo has to trust his teammates. Theres good quality, especially in MF. Hopefully Santos finally makes the switch and takes Moutinho out of the lineup for the wonderkid Renato Sanches.
Today's game vs Hungary was an absolute embarrassment. Fortunately the Euro's are waterdown this year, and third place gets us to the next round.
Renato Sanches is a beast... Portugal needs a striker ( Benzema), and 2 wingers asap if possible one guy to replace Ricardo Carvalho
