Does Easley's Release Change How You View Team Needs?

I'm also seeing 3-3-5 being speculated about.

If we go to a 3-3-5, I would love Cravens from USC.

Ha! The minute I saw 3-3-5 being discussed, I thought to myself "must take a look at Su'a Cravens".

Sheldon Day
Braxton Miller
Cravens
Marshall
Blake
Cody core
O line
O line
All gravy

What's everyone Craven now in the draft? Athletic , Smart LB?

I started writing up DT's Big Board and in there I wrote "I like the addition of Knighton to the roster and I still have faith in my former "binkie" Dominique Easley, so a rookie would not be expected to make a big contribution this year."
Needless to say that not only that line, but my entire thought process needs to change a bit. I am not sure why people think Sheldon Day is a good option if indeed the team goes to a 3-4 or even a 3-3-5. Two guys that come to mind for me are Chris Jones, Javon Hargrave, and Hassan Ridgeway.

I REALLY like Ridgeway

Looks like there maybe more to the story as it is now being reported that it was more of an off field issue than on

First name that popped into my head to replace Easley was Jonathan Bullard, but maybe it's time to cross off players from Florida?

That's a school we have no luck with

It may move DT up the list of needs for some people, although I'm guessing I already had it higher than most. I'm very much looking at his draft from a 2017 perspective, when both Branch and Knighton are a free agents and a year older.

In terms of the pass rushing DT in particular, I don't think this changes anything. For all the hate he's getting right now, Easley was still a special talent as an interior pass rusher. I think that the value of designated interior rushers declines quickly once we remove the "special" qualities. I'd rather see them go after a good overall DT, not reach for a one dimensional pass rusher that surely is not going to be nearly as talented as Easley.

Day assumes no change in scheme. Bullard would be a perfect replacement for Easley. I've said from the start that I think Bullard is better coming out than Easley anyway.

No. I had DT with the 1st or 2nd pick. This is a DT loaded class... Knighton and Branch are free agents and I saw Easley as nothing more than pass rushing specialist. Always thought they needed to get a guy that can team up with Brown and play 3-downs
