My point is the same. You were the one who gave the range of touches. You then changed the argument to "he's not getting those touches".
And you ignore the fact that BB & Co. adapt to the personnel around them, as they did with Lewis last season, for example.
Doesn't seem there's any way it's under $15m at this point honestly, maaaaybe $12-14 aav if he signs a longer deal.
Who do you want if Fitzy goes west?
Hypothetically, would you guys be satisfied with our WR core if we signed both Hogan and Streater?
Haha i was just busting your chops.. Fitz is worth 6-10 mil a year im guessing you guys sign him for 14mil.. I am still perplexed by the one year signing last year.. I know hindsight is 20/20 but everyone with eyes knew geno was not anywhere near a sure thing.. So why not commit a tiny bit of money to a decent starter if you need him/ back up. Oh well now its going to cost you guys.

Unless Corey Dillon is walking through that door The Pats aren't paying $4m for a RB that is not getting 15-20 touches every game.
Anything over 10 for Fitz is insanity.
Now you're probably gonna think I'm nuts. Most Jet fans do too, but...
Option 1: Spend 12+mil on Fitz and basically field the same team as last year with a much harder schedule. Maybe 8 wins? I love the RB moves, but it won't make that much of a difference.
Option 2: GENO Spend the saved 12+mil on filling holes and getting younger. Geno has never played with a good offense. I want to see what he can do. He either excels with a much-much improved team, or he blows. At least we didn't waste the money on a stop-gap QB and "invested" the money in the team.
Cheers. Makes some sense to me actually. Lots of vets on offense that might not be crazy about it (Brandon Marshall might GO crazy about it), but can certainly understand not wanting to see $15m+ spent on Fitzgerald.Anything over 10 for Fitz is insanity.

Option 2 would probably go horribly but sadly is likely the smarter decision. At least they wouldn't blow $14 million or more on Ryan freakin' Fitzpatrick which is ridiculous. "If" (more like "when") Geno sucks, at least the $14m was invested elsewhere and the team can tank for a high pick to hopefully draft a new QB.Anything over 10 for Fitz is insanity.

Ha, sorry. Didn't mean to be snarky. FA has slowed down and that just caught my eye. I did make sure to compliment the hell out of the guy though. Well deserving too. I agree, he is a top 5 slot/possession guy for sure.
However still very happy with Revis and I'm thrilled with what's happening with Fitz! Word is Macc is offering backup money, and that's exactly what I'd do.
To be clear, if the Jets sign Fitz for over 8mil, I'll be very disappointed (6 would be better). I'd rather Denver get him.
What is obvious is that Lankford emerged when Forte was injured. That is a fact. Your opinions are your opinions, and I, as usual, disagree.
Geno sucks harder than a crack whore in need of a fix, so I'm all for the Jets taking option #2
Now I know I'm right.
In this market - Osweiler, anyone? - you think to get Fitz for under 8million AAV?????????
Double that, plus.
Worst thing that could happen with Option 2 is a mediocre season. I'd be hoping for sink or swim. Either it "clicks" for Geno and we're playoff bound, or we're starting Petty late in the season in prep for a top draft pick (QB). Mediocrity is just a nice way of saying you try real hard to still suck. Tired of it. Fitz is the definition of mediocrity.
No, the worst thing would be for Geno to be Geno, and lose it under pressure. He'll **** himself against the (now) more aggressive Patriots and Bills defenses, and even Miami's line would probably make him soil his uni a bit.
And that's just in the division. This ain't the 2013-2014 AFCE.
Wouldn't be great. I'd prefer he succeeded, but that is better than 6-to-10 wins under Fitz and missing the playoffs.
I think Forte could have seen 15 a game WITH catching out of the backfield.
Just waiting for that "Blount headed back to NE" tweet which i am perfectly fine with
The Jets were a borderline playoff team last year, and they've already upgraded their running attack. Why the hell would you want them to go back to blowing chunks again?
Edit: Nevermind. I forgot..... Jets fan
