Fuk
Give us Justin Hunter then Tenn

Bet they gave him $6-$7m per.

Must of been 6 a year Risard
Why are we always confident we can close someone just to see them leave.

Wonder what he got...every single person pretty much has been way over paid this FA so that's my guess.

Really no one else i really want this FA as far as WRs so draft and or trades maybe

Hence Cousin....Trade now and avoid being a mid round 4th comp picks for him after all those this year get paid in 2017.

Anyone have the Cardinals phone number to give to Bill? They missed out on a few pass rushers today.

P.S. The ones who are desperate besides the Broncos are the Browns. Decimated by loss of 4 starters today. They know Josh Gordon is a crap shoot at best. Jones would be a "For the fan base" selection. I still say take a run at Joe Haden and Josh Gordon for Jones. The Browns can now gauge what he is worth. See the Vernon contract.
The Pats will not spend $17mm for Jones.
Here is the other problem. If you are Jones and know you are worth $17mm right now, do you take a chance on injury to go all out in 2016? Interesting question. His ceiling value is set.

Unless it's a QB, you get maybe 5 years with a player. Even if you're right, you're throwing away 20% of the Pats time with Jones, and at reasonable cost. Also, players on their option year tend to perform better.

And they can always franchise him if he becomes lights out.

If you were GM of the Broncos, you would have traded away Von Miller last year and now speculating that your draft pick might get you, finally, to the promised land.

Maybe the Pats aren't high on Jones right now - the drug issue or something. If that's the case, they should move him, but ONLY if that's the case.

Reuben Randle Rod Streater Percy Harvin with a good migrane dr
Trade for Floyd trade for Gordon wtf

What was the money difference I wonder

About the only comparo between Jones and Miller is they both are DE. Outside of that nothing much is even close.

I'd be more interested in keeping Sheard than Jones. He's up next year too. People forget that. Huge, huge decisions to be made coming up.

Percy Harvin please.

Obviously the market has gone up, if you aren't willing to pay market price for players you need you're going to miss out, it's simple.

Hello Bruce this is BB lets make a deal
Michael Floyd We have a certain pass rusher who may interest you

No way I'm trading Chandler. Not for a second rounder. I know I'm getting a 3rd rounder in compensation for him. So no way. I'd rather use him for a year while we still have Brady and then take a 3rd. 2nd rounder does me absolutely no good.

A 2nd rounder, especially a high 2nd rounder, would do a lot more good than a late 3rd rounder which is likely to not amount to anything.

Not that I'm advocating for trading Jones (although I think they should), but the "they get a 3rd rounder" thing doesn't make sense. 3rd round picks have a low success rate, you're much more likely to get a Geneo Grissom, Jake Bequette Shawn Crable, Taylor Price or Kevin O'Connell than a good player. How many good players have the Pats - a good drafting team - come up with since Belichick took over? Logan Ryan, Duron Harmon, Stevan Ridley, Nick Kaczur, Ellis Hobbs are the best ones.

Chances are that 3rd round pick will never contribute in a meaningful way. So the equation is really one year of Jones or one year of Sheard full time at RE + a 2nd round pick (though I think Jones fetches more than just a 2nd rounder). Long term, trading him - given Sheard's presence - has more value. Even just for 2016, there's a chance you get similar value from Sheard + a 40% chance of a good player in the 2nd round.

I was leaning towards Kearse over Matthews anyway. Hoping for him.

Seems like Matthews has upside, but Kearse has better speed, length, experience and clutch catches (no I'm not counting the SB catch as clutch)
