I do think Matthews could be a good fit here. Not big or anything, but he has a bit of size on him, and more importantly the type of agility that tends to work well here. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he turned into a thousand yard receiver here.
He is 6' tall and 217. Not a speed merchant at 4.62 40 but reliable and good athlete with a 6.88 3 cone. I look at him about the size of Bolden of the Niners.

All we had to do was offer like 4 mill
You can't say for sure that the Steelers wouldn't have matched a one-year 4 million offer too.

I remember reading they were in cap hell and all we had to do was offer like 3.5 and they wouldnt match
I think we offered 2.3 makes me sick lol

Here is a new slant and a definate-maybe. Trade Chandler Jones to the Bears for their #1 pick last year Kevin White who had shin surgery plus their second rounder. Very fair realistic trade. White was a horse at UWVA. Big and fast.
Good trade for both Teams. The Bears need a pass rusher desperately.

The Bears would not do that.

White was their #7 overall pick and they're going to trade him for Jones (who, based on the present market, would take $15m+ to re-sign next year), AND give you their 2nd rounder?

Lol, okaaay

Id do white for Jones
id do Floyd for Jones
Id do Gordon for jones

How can you equate what lafell has done in NE to what sanders has done in Denver? Sanders has killed us. Plus he is still on the Broncos while lafell was just released.

Would have liked to see M. Jones here but 8 million per is too much. As usual teams are making really bad deals on day one.

Not to mention the Bears reportedly look at White as their future WR1 and Jeffery as their future WR2 from what I heard on NFL Radio yesterday.

Belichick really screwed up on lafell. Could have had sanders.
He won a SB with LaFell...no telling if Sanders steps up in the playoffs in the same spot.

Sanders wasn't coming to NE for LaFells's deal.

Not saying Sanders couldn't have been better but I am most definitely arguing that BB did not screw up on Lafell. He made huge contributions to a SB season.

Trading Chandler Jones for a guy who is one beer from a season long suspension is insane.
And trading him for a $7.3 million one year rental that doesn't know the system is pretty close to insane too.

He was probably the only WR worth pursuing in this class, everyone else feels like they're merely replacement-level or otherwise broken and lottery tickets at best.

The RB market is still loaded without much activity outside of Forte. Doug martin, Lamar Miller, and Forte are still available. It would never happen because the Pats don't spend that kind of coin on RB's, but Doug Martin would look fantastic with a Flying Elvis on his helmet.

I totally agree he helped win a super bowl. But sanders is just the better player.

Does anyone know the percent of plays Sanu is in the slot?
