Patriots 'part ways' with OL coach Dave DeGuglielmo

he's a backup at best, on one play where the pats were backed up near the goal line, he was brought in as a 6th lineman. He had one job, protect the edge. what happened? Miller beat him, not even touched! and brady got sacked

here's a still (the caption is wrong - fleming is on the outside). his one job is to watch the edge rusher. if he moves, you move too. have no idea why his eyes arent on him

Cannon - Stork - Kline and Flemming did not improve all regressed and Cannon and Kline received questionable contract extensions. I hope Mason and Jackson work out at Guard Pats invested too much for what they are getting back nothing!

Not that many, if there had been 2-3 sure but, there must have been like 5-6 maybe 7. And everyone was a drive killer.
You think there were 7 false starts in that game? Not what I remember, I better look it up.

The Patriot's OL was a dumpster fire many, many times this season. Never close to excellence. TB is not 28 y/o, he must have better protection and some semblance of a running game to take some of the pressure off. There is a limit to what even TB can do. Drastic times lead to drastic measures and Googs unit sucks, Next!!!

Cannon didn't do this out of malice. I'm sure he thought he was doing what he was coached to do. Either he didn't understand what the coach wanted or the coach was scheming nonsense.

I also note that Miller (?) is two steps out of his stance before the ball is halfway to Brady. Offsides?

That's the one play I thought DEN was offside. He anticipated the snap and got away with it.

The OL had 2 false starts. Gronk had one. Special teams had one.
We didn't fire the OL coach because of 2 false starts on the road.

False starts happen in away games with loud stadiums. That can be excused, but the poor all around execution can't. Let's hope it gets sorted out for 2016. Brady isn't getting any younger.

After the pounding he took Sunday I'd be surprised if he reports to camp this summer. What a shat show that was. I really don't want to see Cannon or Fleming manning any part of this line again.

The fact that you don't understand that there is more to being an Offensive lineman than "blocking the guy in front of them" shows you shouldn't be commenting on whether or not an O-lineman is doing his job and performing well.

Cannon is fine for short stretches. But he's not an every day starter. He's shown that he can spot start and be excellent.. But he doesn't have the game in and game out consistency..

A left olines only job it to protect the QBs blind side by blocking the other guy. I know Solder was out all year but if they are using cannon, who is not an everyday player because of injury, as a main cog how is that Deguglielmos fault he can't block? No coach is getting more out of cannon.

Okay, well damn it felt like more. I doubt it was the one game too, Koppen said BB doesn't make rash decisions. Miami game was probably a huge factor too.

IMO, I think the IOL will be okay. Mason and Jackson are rookies who both have potential. If the next OL coach can better develop them, they'll be good. Maybe they bring back Wendell and see if he can help.

The tackle situation is the issue - I think I've said it already but Vollmer and Cannon are probably both overpaid. Think Vollmer needs to restructure, as his salary is too high for his age for his position. If not I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone. Don't know what they'll do with Cannon... He's decent as a "break glass in case of emergency" tackle, but if he's starting then you've got problems. Fleming sucks. I liked what I saw in the very few snaps Waddle took and would like to bring him back. He's not signed for next year, right?

Wouldn't be surprised if they moved on from Vollmer and Cannon and tried Waddle at RT with Fleming as depth (cheap contract - if your depth sucks, it may as well suck cheap) and bring in some OTs late in the draft or UDFAs hoping to find a diamond in the rough.

They could always try to sign Okung, too, but that doesn't seem likely.

No we cannot move on from Vollmer he was one of the better RT's in this league before Solder went down. With Solder back our Tackle situation is good...that siad I thought Bryan Storks play was horrible this year he didn't play as well as his Rookie year.

I am not putting all of the blame on Goog's but these numbers are terrible. Brady's career is going to be cut short if there isn't some major improvements.

Holy **** I had no idea they were THAT bad compared to the rest of the league

6th in run blocking? Werent they 31st in rushing?

The 6th must be a typo the writer probably had hand cramps writing 31st.

Probably due to such a small sample size... Those couple nice plays by Dion early in the year paired with the fact that the Pats barely rushed the ball the rest of the year skewed the results

Belichick is the man.

he did it repeatedly, one would think it wouldn't take but twice to figure out that you just don't stand there with your arm out which resulted in a hit or a sack.
