He's had a number of 40-50 catch seasons. I imagine he could chip someone, make a catch, then wreak havoc once he gets to the second level.

It's our offense that's uncertain because of injuries and any coach would explore using a star like Jackson in many ways, in case our O bogs down.

Thoughts?

If we're going to be passing to the halfbacks, I'd rather it be White. Jackson isn't exactly fleet of foot anymore.

Yea other than a few screens or something after pounding the rock up the middle a few times with Jackson to keep the defense honest, White should get the majority of passing downs

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Because we could use some help on our offensive line. I'm just going to stop right here before people realize I'm leaking insider information, but let's just say you'll be surprised at who is starting at RG in the playoffs.

With Jackson, Belichick thinks there is potential for him to contribute as a pass-catcher as well.

"Steven’s had a lot of production in the passing game over the course of his career. He’s got good hands, soft hands for a big man, so we’ll see how all that plays out, but I think he can help us on all three downs," he said. "How much that is and how long that is, that’s part of something we’re working through as well."

"He's great to coach. He works hard. You would think he's a rookie, just trying to soak everything in, understand everything as well as he can," Belichick relayed Wednesday

Clearly White is the 1st option but SJax showed with the 20 yrd catch n run he can still move- just slower.

If only White could run the ball ....just a little. Keep defenses off balance and cool the pass rush a little.

I don't have a problem tossing him a screen or two during the entire playoff run.

Honestly, I don't think they have been using White enough... would love to get him more involved, but I think S Jax can def. fit into a Blount role, third down back. Give the big guy the rock near the end zone!

Well, I tend to agree with that guy - BB that is. I've said it before and let's think outside the box. I think white is a much better receiver than runner. Why not have him split wide or in the slot sometimes?

It's just a little creativity using the talent you have in creative ways.

Of course White is quicker, but against little cornerbacks? I think Jackson gets plenty of YAC in those matchups.

....and something they did many, many many times with Vereen last year and in the playoffs.

Absolutely. Both ballcarriers are effective.

Yup. With Edelman and Amendola iffy, might be needed to win a first game or two.

I'd like to see a two-back shotgun formation with both White and Jackson

Yep. Especially with LBs who suck in coverage.

I think White is going to have a huge playoff run. I think the team is trying to be careful with him. Hes never played this much in a season before and want to make sure he doesn't wear down.

They threw a lot of that stuff out in Miami. I'd like to see lots of motion. show one thing, shift to another.

But what if White isn't in the game and Jackson is? why should we limit ourselves to what the other team expects?

I guess if hes still capable of being that kind of player.. but he doesnt have a lot of experience in this offense and if you're on the field a lot on pass downs, you need to have a deep understanding of the blocking assignments, etc

He could sure contribute if we need to be careful with dola and edelman.

A guy who's played with mcDaniel and has that much experience?
