Do you think this season offers a good reason why an 18 game season would be a bad idea? As we can see, plenty of injuries happen during a 16 game season, but even more are bound to happen during an 18 game season.
Right, but in an 18-game season you'd have two bye weeks in which to heal.
And they should lighten up on the draconian IR rules if they're going to make the season longer.

My sarcasm meter is a little off today, but you're being sarcastic, right?Until the culture changes and these buttercups masquarading as football players learn to suck it up and play through some of this more minor crap than I say no. Our society is turning into a bunch of ****!%s who fold the tent at the first sign of a hangnail and the toughest sport is a reflection of that.
Once it turns into 2-hand touch or it becomes boy-in-bubble ball no problem. Make it an 80 game season for chrissakes. That's the way it's headed anyway. That and the injury rules are idiotic. If a guy is healed up and ready to go why not make it so you can take him off IR ANYTIME?
The days of the old school tough guys is gone. No were stuck with a bunch of pampered millionaires with flea-sized ball sacks.
I'm an Iron Worker so spare me the crybaby "what if you got this injury?!?" fairy crap.
Same "no" landslide as when I did one of these a couple years ago. I'll say then what I said now--here you have a group of people who love football and are following a great team, so more than just about anyone else would say yes to more games--saying no.
18 games is a horrible idea.
