The Jets barely won a game they should have won…

In a twisted way .... Rex Ryan spanking them next week is the perfect scenario.

I keep hearing this everytime. Yes they barely won but they still play us tough even when 100 percent healthy. We will see them again if we get the top seed. They have gotten into a winning streak.
It's still Two professional teams.. We were pretty healthy last year and beat Geno by a combined three points..

A pressed team won... They didn't dominate but made the plays to win..

Think how the Steelers feel this week..

I'm concered about the pats, but that has nothing to do with yesterdays game and everything to do with health.

The OP is correct.

They lost 2 of those 3 in OT on the road.

This game, they dressed only 3 WRs. JoJo, Keyshaun and Chris. Think about that for a moment (I'm sure Jets fans won't).

Anyone concerned in the least about this loss (or impressed by the Jets win) did not see the Pats final possession of the first half. Until the final 5 minutes, they were playing that game on preservation mode.

Once they get SJax in shape to carry10-15 times per game, they can return Bolden to full time ST duty. It hasn't been noted enough how much STs have suffered since he has taken on more RB duty.

Get Edelman, Amendola, McCourty, Chung and a no rust SJax ready for Saturday night January 9th on CBS. They will steamroll those two home playoff games.

The only question is whether they will win the Sb game.

As much as I was annoyed with how the game ended, I was thinking as Brady & co. once again pulled a rabbit out of a hat and managed to tie the game up, that there was no way, with even MORE injuries occurring during that game, that we should have been in it, and we were. Our team is amazing, but we really need some guys back.

The Jets thoroughly outplayed us yesterday. 428-284 in total yards.

That is a striking stat. If not for the Collins return for TD, the game really wouldn't have been that close. I know the Pats always seem to get it done (or keep it close), even in games they appear to be outplayed, but, both Jests lines really dominated their counterparts.

The Patriots dressed only 3 WRs named Lafell, Martin and Harper.

Lafell.....Martin.....Harper.

Our two starting Safeties were also not there.

The Jets, who had a full roster and were home in a do or die game needed OT to beat them.

Any more questions?

The Jets have kicked our butts in 6 out of 8 quarters. Laugh at them all you want, but they are a good football team and match up well with us. And complain about injuries all you want, too, but who knows who we'll have next time we play. What if Gronk is out? Just saying, you can't step in the same river twice. The Jets beat us, no coulda shouldas.

Not so striking. It's 348-284 at the end of regulation. Also, don't forget TB threw a pick in Jets' territory.

All in all, not so bad for a team with several injuries to key players against a team with only Dee Milliner out. Amazingly, the Jets IR only contains one key player (Allen).

These are all good points...but at some point, injuries can no longer be an excuse

That's a nice cliché, but.......

1) Can you claim that the Patriots choose the strategy they did on the last possession of the first half with 1:57 to go if Edelman and Amendola were in there?

2) I'm damn proud of how the Pats took them to OT in their own building. If the Jets were missing Marshall and Decker on offense and Cromartie and Pryor on defense, there is no freaking way they stay within 30 points of the Patriots in Foxboro.

Let's all drop the moral relativism and call it what it was.

Injuries are a fact of life, and there are no "Participation Trophies" for the Pats just because they had those 4 guys out. But those 4 guys are coming back and I am not in the least worried about the Jets if they see them next month in Foxboro. Not in the least.

There's a thing called losing with dignity

That's a great thing for the people who actually matter in the equation to worry about. As a fan I'm free to be gorging on sour grapes.

Instead of giving credit to the other team

I give credit to Philly. They deserved to win that game. They came to our stadium and while a lot of their points were due to 3 big plays it doesn't mean they didn't deserve the win.

Denver? I give them no credit for beating us. Awful officiating, horrible injury to Gronk as with others, the most substantial home field advantage in the league (having moved from NE to higher elevations it is noticeable and it still went into OT.

The Jets? Yesterday we were as injured as we have been all year. Hard to feel like the Jets deserved to win that game especially when I'm just not convinced Butler deserved that flag late in the 4th.

Spoiled much?

Without a doubt. In a weird way I'm glad about the Philly loss, though, because it takes away the 'UGH we could have been undefeated if only X had happened' aspect about the @Denver and @NYJ games.

I'm also a little annoyed that Denver has gotten to play the toughest games on their schedule at home. I know it's not a bias thing and there's a formula for how scheduling away/home games happens but it's still annoying as ****.

Listening to "The Fan" radio show (New York),earlier today. You'd think they just beat us at our best and there's no stopping them now. I mean I get it. They are probably making the playoffs but they're acting like their already in the Superbowl.

In October Pryor kept Gronk in check and the Jets were winning the game..

Pryor got hurt in the fourth qtr and Gronk went into beast mode..

Injuries work both ways..

A loss is a loss.. Hopefully we get them in January..

I was just thinking how would the Jets have done w/o Decker or Marshall. They only managed to score 20 points in regulation w/both of them and New England was missing their two best safeties. They should have scored more than 20 points and easily won the game.

You know about correlation and causation.. right ?

Pryor didn't hold **** in check in the first game. The reality is that our gameplan contained tons of line work for Gronk to deal with the strong Jets DL. Also Gronk didn't go into any beast mode at the end of that game but had a nicely designed TD off a Jets blitz. In fact, he had roughly exactly the same amount of yards before and after Pryor went out in the third quarter.

Wow. How bad is THAT argument?

The Jets lost just ONE of the 4 players I listed and they went to pieces.

The Pats played all game without their FOUR starters and the Jets needed OT at home to get by them.

Thank you for making my point.

In trying to make your point you made Shmessy's point.

But the way you arrived at your point is incorrect

First off the jests weren't winning. Pats were winning when he left. In fact on the play he got hurt on Pats had entered jests territory and were driving and had to settle for a FG to go up 16-10 after Edelman dropped a TD that would have put them up 20-10.

jests only had the lead for 2 drives after Pryor went out. Went up 17-16, then 20-16 before the Pats retook the lead in the 2nd half. 23-20, then went up 30-20.

So with Pryor on the field Pat scored 16 points with him off of it they scored 14.

As for Gronk, he had 44 yards before Pryor went out and 64 yards after he went out. WOW a whole 20 yards difference.

Also Chandler knocked Pryor out of the game when he posterized him on a route up the sideline for a 30 yard catch.

Then there is the fact that Gronk in the game Sunday only had 22 yards less than he did in the 1st game and Pryor played the whole game.

Now let's continue your point, take Marshall, Decker, Gilchrist, Pryor, Ferguson, Carpenter out of either game, do you really think the jests come close to beating the Pats?

Also if you want to play the Pryor went out injured **** for the game in Foxboro, here was the list of inactives for the Pats that day

Jabaal Sheard
Dion Lewis
Keshawn Martin
Brandon Bolden
Marcus Cannon
Shaq Mason
Bryan Stork (was not back from short term IR)

Ya i'm sure Sheard or Lewis wouldn't have made a difference in that game. Not to mention Pats were missing 3 of their current starting OL in that game (Stork, Cannon and Mason)
