Steven Jackson!

Where do people get this idea that Blount doesn't fumble? He does. He's had 4 fumbles during his time with the Pats. That is actually pretty good.

Also, I question the idea that Blount is capable in the play-offs. Look at the 3 games against teams that weren't Indy.

2013 - Denver - 5 rushes - 6 yards
2014- Baltimore - 3 rushes - 1 yard
2014 - Seattle - 14 rushes - 40 yards.

That's 22 rushes for 47 yards. Anyone else and people would be demanding a replacement.

But didn't those games against Indy also count? I'm pretty sure the last one was for the AFC Championship. The Pats come up with different game plans for different teams so the numbers are going to get scewed. In Baltimore the Pats were down by 14 for most of the game, ditto for the Denver and Seattle games. But the games that they were ahead, they gave Blount the ball and he punished the Colts and killed the clock.

if jackson can fall forward in short yardage situations like he did with atlanta and st louis it would be great. this is something blount couldn't or didn't want to do.

  1. Take away games against bad run defenses
  2. Focus only on games against elite run defenses
  3. Notice that the Patriots, as a team, didn't bother running against such defenses
  4. Make shocking revelation that Blount didn't dominate in games against elite defenses where he didn't get a lot of carries

Profit!

Iosefa hit the whole faster than blount, that's all I'm saying.

Iosefa had one 15 yard run. Outside of that, he had 36 yards on 13 carries. However you frame it now, you're talking crazy when you claim Iosefa looked better than Blount.

no framing, he was faster to line of scrimmage...if you don't believe that, so be it..no need to comment further.

And I'm pretty sure that Chris Christie could have put up 100 yards on the Colts with how bad their Run Defense was both years. So, no. A piss poor run defense isn't part of the equation.

Had Blount run the ball effectively against Denver or Baltimore, those games would have been different. Not acknowledging that is making excuses for Blount.

I have watched the games this year and Blount has lost something. You can blame the oline, but if it were not for them he wouldn't even have that good average. With a pass heavy offense we have any rb should average at least 3.5yards, but a rb sometimes needs to help the line out and make some yards for himself. It kinda defeats that purpose if a rb needs 2 steps to get anything going. Last year he was good, this year he is not as good. Not saying he is horrible, just not as good, for a guy his size he takes too long t0 gather power. Iosefa is a powerful runner.

It is framing. Running blindly into the OL isn't good running. Your re-frame (and it is a re-frame from where you began) is ridiculous. It essentially 'punishes' Blount for looking for a hole to hit.

Your initial claim was that Iosefa looked better than Blount. That was absurd. You're now trying "faster to the line". Great. Iosefa averaged 3.6 ypc. Ol' Molasses Blount averaged 4.3. Give me the "slow" guy in that comparison.

Monte Ball had been assigned #39.

Maybe he's now set to be making some good money in a deal with SJ over his number!

Yeah. Why bother focusing on the the defenses where a GOOD RB is supposed to show that he's good? BTW, Deus, no one said anything about Blount needing to Dominate. But yeah, why bother with actual facts.. Like the fact that the Patriots TRIED to run the ball and couldn't.

No one made any such "shocking" revelation. Typical Deus. Embellish and flat out lie about what people are saying because he can't use facts..

Fact is that Blount was down-right horrible against Denver and against Seattle. Had he even been just average, it would have been better.

Wouldn't it be cool to use a regular I-formation once in a while? Line up Iosefa at FB, and SJax at RB. Or spell Montee in at RB on third down. I don't want to see Brandon too much, as he's been invaluable on special teams.

I suggested that earlier in the thread but I don't know how good Sofa is as a lead blocker. He had a couple of chances yesterday and kinda wiffed on White's run (who did pick up 6yds on the play).

I could be wrong but PS players don't really have the cache to ask for $$ for a number. Because Ball has accrued time maybe there is an exception to be made. Not sure on this one

With that said, my understanding is that SJax is a class act and I would assume he'd be respectful of the circumstances and out of respect and courtesy offer him something in exchange for #39.

its a battle for 39
iosefa is 47 - possibly X factor - 2016 butler - a sign from god

but one should not get overexcited

I really doubt Jackson has much of anything left in his legs at this point. Not sure why bb is giving him a shot over bell.

He is a poor mans brandon bolden
