OT: We broke the Seahawks' spirit

Speaking of the Seahawks, they just released Chris Matthews. Sure, he's a 4-year veteran with four career regular season catches, but boy did he kill the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

That call should have been a corner fade. Not a slant.
I don't necessarily think that was the right pass to throw, the point is the whole "just run it" wasn't necessarily the answer either. A pass had to be thrown. And that pass is relatively harmless if it doesn't hit, no real time off the clock, no chance of a sack, keeps the clock stopped, run twice with a time out and you like your chances.

Fact is the Pats had coached the situation perfectly, and even perfectly coached, Butler made a once in a lifetime type of pick to seal it. All the questioning of the Seahawks playcalling negates the fact that in reality the Pats were just better prepared and takes away from the true specialness of what Butler did there.

How did the Hawks manage to pay Jimmy Graham through all this money mismanagement?

isnt that the mystery...great point...although I though JG would be great for them I get a feeling they have no idea on how to use him, again imho I dont think they do or ever had a great passing game.

As far as I'm concerned, their spirits were broken before that game. The Seahawks were lucky to even make the SB last season. They were garbage until they got to the easier part of their schedule, facing less than average QBs. Their road in the playoffs was pretty easy, they beat a sorry Panthers team, who only won about 6 games to win the South, then there was that suspect game against Rodgers and the Packers, where I am still convinced that the Packers lost the game on purpose. The Seahawks were no where near as good as advertised last season and nobody, especially their fans should be surprised that they suck now. The only reason the score was close in the SB, is because Arrington sucks at his position. The Pats were outplaying Seattle for the majority of the game, regardless of the score. That's why that whole "run Lynch" theory pees me off so much.

I was expecting Wilson to have a career year with the addition of Graham, but I guess that just goes to show that TEs and WRs are nothing when they are playing with trash for a QB. Arrington made Wilson look like the next coming of Steve Young in the SB. He also made Matthews and Kearse look like Terrell Owens and Jerry Rice. Shame, because we'll probably never hear about those two scrubs ever again, unless they get the opportunity to play Baltimore, where Arrington continues to stink up the joint.

They've got no wideouts. Baldwin is a complete bum and he's considered their top guy. Wilson is getting a lot of flack these days, but it should be their front office catching heat.

Which message boards are your referring to? HawksNet is freakin' pathetic, my visits there have not been pleasant.
Might have been FieldGulls ? The fan posts section, and the comments? I checked them out around the Super Bowl, the articles and the fan comments.

I remember thinking to myself, "this and sosh are some of the better fan sports boards I've seen". (Sosh, i.e., for baseball of course).

Heat for giving Wilson that ridiculous contract? This argument could become a paradox portal to another dimension.

Gotta love the younger Patriots fans who think everybody sucks except their team. Seattle had the
same record as us despite playing just as tough a sked.

Best defense in the NFL for 3 consecutive seasons. Defending champs coming off a dominant season in which they clobbered a Denver team that just man-handled us 43-8 in Super Bowl 48 Yeah, they sucked:eek:
