"Giants are the Patriots' Kryptonite!!!"

Meh.... TB, BB, Eli, and Coughlin have pretty much ZERO to do with Tyree's circus catch and Welker's drop - both, determined the outcomes of those two superbowls.

Eli's Houdini escape led the circus catch.

Listen I get what you're saying, just think it isn't THAT overblown b/c of QB/HC continuity.

2007 was legit, they beat one of our best teams. From 2008-2012 our team was in a rebuilding phase, staying a yearly contender solely due to bb/brady's brilliance. In 2011 they beat a team with a defense that was basically ripped up and started from scratch save mayo/wilfork/dmc. Over the past couple seasons our new defense assembled and came into its own, the last two seasons we've been legit favorites for the first time since 07. If they win THIS one you can say they have our #.

I can't help thinking that Belichick's long time association and two Super Bowl rings with the Giants have something to do (in a metaphysically cosmic sense) with the two Super Bowl losses. That said, the two losses have balanced the score and the Pats will no longer lose to the less obnoxious of the two NY football clubs.

The Patriots kryptonite is singular and nothing to do with an individual team:
Pure physical domination like the Ravens did in 12 and the Chiefs did last year.

When the D/O lines don't get mannheim steamroller-ed (merry christmas!), the Patriots have usually won or at least been very close to winning -- always. They won't win them all, there are just too many uncontrolled variables. For example the Giants ability to far too often hurry Brady in the 07 SB was a singularly important variable. However, give Brady time and there is no kryptonite for the Patriots. We win at a crazy big clip. Yet even the few close ones we lose? Being in the very thick of those infrequent events is in itself a nice thing. Just think back to last year's KC thrashing to remember how friggin bad it sucked to watch a game that is not competitive in the least (or you could momentarily think of how it is to be a Jet fan to know how bad it can suck.....urgh......skip it :)).

So, um, yeah Kryptonite....

They are the patriots kryptonite and the patriots are also scared out of their minds of them and I hope everyone on the patriots know this everytime we face them.

Missing half the offensive line is kryptonite, not that average team on Sunday

For those who haven't heard: There is a Salary Cap.

The Salary Cap acts as a constant and relentless force of Erosion, robbing all 32 Teams of Depth every Year.

As such, forging a Dominating Force that will tower over the rest of the League ~ like the 1985 Bears or the 1989 Miners or the 1992 CowBoys ~ has become virtually impossible: Every Team, every Year, even the Elite, is but an Injury or two away from falling out of legitimate Championship Contention.

There is no Superman Team. This Kryptonite ******** suggests a Reality that doesn't exist.

Maybe in 50 Years or so ~ when Teams than win it all twice in a Decade are being called "Dynasties" ~ it'll finally dawn on the rest of the World how incredibly amazing our Run of Glory truly is.

Meanwhile: There is no Superman Team, therefore no Kryptonite.

There are only 32 Competing Teams, all with an Opportunity.

But you best believe that we are The Meanest Mother****ers In The Whole ****ing Valley.

2 out of 5

Kline/Andrews/Mason has been the starting interior all season.

Our pass defense will be tested. Curious to see how these guys perform.

Disagree with your assessment of the '07 season end. By definition, the Giants won that game on a fluke. It wasn't a brilliant coaching decision, it wasn't preparation. It was won by a guy who caught a ball with his helmet. That's it.

Yeah...that wasn't the only play in the game....Asante, Moss, etc...

Hate thinking about that game will never get over it unless we go 19-0, which is a possibility I do not entertain b/c it is too unlikely. I'll let myself entertain it if we hit 16-0.

I'm really afraid of that stout Giants Dline. With the way they've been dominating teams this year, I hope they don't kill Brady out there on Sunday.

Oh, wait.... their pass rush f&cking sucks this year.

Not that he'll change the entire direction of their defense or anything, but them getting JPP back is a pretty big deal

Didn't do anything last week, maybe he will this week but he didn't work out this off season because of his hand so I don't really expect to see much. I could be wrong but I don't expect much

The Giants D line in 2007 & 2011 was the kryptonite, not the Giants organization, or Coughlin, or Eli. This Giants team does not have the caliber of D linemen those teams had.

It was because of those Giants teams that the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets have loaded up on their d lines, but the Pats offense has evolved and has not had a problem with them.

I have heard all week on radio them trying to build up this game because Coughlin is in Brady's head and they always do well against the Pats because they aren't afraid of them.

In 2007-2011, the common theme with the Giants were they had a solid d-line that could pressure the QB with a four man rush no matter how bad the defense was. They usually hurt the Pats with the inside rush. This year's Giants' defense does not have a pass rush at all. Sure the Pats' o-line is in shambles, but the Giants' d-line sucks and they just lost their starting DT for the season. JPP looks like the only one who can rush the passer, but it could have been a first game that the other team didn't take him seriously with his hand.

Also different this year is Brady is different. He has a much faster release and is far more mobile in and out of the pocket. He isn't susceptible to the inside rush as he was in the past either.

I still think the Pats win this game by two TDs. I think people are building up the Giants into something they aren't just like they did with the Jets and Bills earlier in the season. The Giants are an average team with a bad defense. They cannot cover the TE for the life of them.

Yeah that's the key because........

Jets fans make the same mistake constantly going back to their playoff win 5 years ago.

What these guys never ask is, can these conditions be repeated?

Brady had a high ankle sprain SB XLII..........Gronk SB XLVI. Absent that..........they are blowouts.

Maybe Spags can pull a once in a lifetime new gameplan. What needs to be understood is after these teams show their hand, a certain crack coaching staff comes up with the answers.

Bingo

Gold star, my man.

It's also why the Patriots shifted back to smaller, shiftier WR's that a generation of taller CB's can't cover.

A generation of evolution designed to counter Randy Moss has been negated.

Lastly, this is also why BB will never quit of the two TE concept. There is no current or feasible counter to that concept.

A Gronk offense in today's world has no complete solution because the pieces don't exist.

Getting sick of this. I want Brady to throw for 8 TDs and hang 60+ on them

They did not win on a fluke. Those plays are part of the game and its unfortunate they got that break, but if we deserve a title we overcome plays like that, the way we did after Kearse's circus catch last year. Football is a 60 minute game it is not lost on one play. You're ignoring the fact that the Giants still had to drive 30 yards or so to get the ball into the end zone (FAR from a gimme). You're ignoring the fact that right before the TD they had 3rd and 11 and still converted, while our secondary failed again. And finally you're ignoring the other Fifty-nine minutes where the outcome was being determined. At some point you have to acknowledge that and give credit to other team, rather than just saying fluke play.

And it's misleading too... the Pats beat the Giants just before New Years Day 2008. Misleading reporting? From ESPN?!?! Say it ain't so!!! LMAO
