Schefter on Lewis: No swelling yet (good) but ACL loose (bad)

What time is BBs weekly injury press conference starting?
You know the show where BB goes over every minut detail how the injury occcured where the break is and how long til the player is recovered and what we will do to compensate for the player.
Its typically on right after his weekly pep rally and this is how we are going to beat this team this week where he goes over the gameplan and allows the assistant coaches to take and answer fan and media questions.
Then has the weekly drawing where one fan gets to call a series of plays in the fourth quater.
Any truth to the rumor he is also hosting a game show where is Dobson and when will he become a playmaker.

Lewis is a valuable weapon for sure. But he's also fun. That's one of the things I was thinking yesterday about possible replacements, White, whatever. The Pats can probably get by without Lewis, but one of the things we'll definitely miss is that he's just flat-out fun to watch. Sometimes (like when reading the game thread, cough) it's easy to forget that that's why we watch these games in the first place.

Please don't turn this into another Dobson thread. The guy sucks, but Lafell has been everything we hoped Droppy would be. He isn't holding this offense back, just taking up a roster spot.

If you feel bad about this offense, you have some high ass standards

It could get better but i really loved seeing lewis come out of the backfield to make plays:(

The dropoff from Dion Lewis to anybody else is Immense! our Offense is Un-Stoppable with him in there with him out not so much. Lewis just scares the Defense he's a complete player both running and catching. Now with White or Bolden Defenses have one less threat to worry about, hope they prove me wrong. A Woodhead or Vereen would make me feel a little better but a player like them ain't walking through that door. I hope Dion Lewis is not DONE for the year and we can have him back atleast later in the year in time for the Playoffs.

I loved watching this guy, hope he's OK.

Lewis was an unexpected bonus this year. Losing him will be like finding an unexpected $20 in your pocket and then later losing it before you get to spend it. Even getting half a season out of him is a net positive over all.

The thing that gets me is I still have yet to see any picture or angle where I cringe and go, yup, that's a season ender. When Gronk was injured I could barely watch the replays because you just knew. I still can't wrap my head around this one.

Unfortunately, I've seen ACL blowouts from players on some of my favorite teams (in other sports as well) that looked similar to this. This looked a little like AJ Price for UConn bball, or even Wes Welker against the Texans.

I have a feeling we may have dodged a bullet we have all guessed wrong before I sure hope so.

Very likeable player. It stinks!!! I would give archer a look

He was putting full weight on it walking on the sidelines. I guarantee you if it was a ACL or MCL tear he would not be doing that. He would have been limping and favoring his better knee.

It is what it is whatever it is

Unfortunately, one of this strengths (his size and the shiftyness that comes with it) is also his weakness. As fans, we should probably get used to this as he's probably too small to stand up to an NFL style beating through a full schedule without at least getting nagging injuries. I hope this one isn't a season-ender, but it doesn't sound too good.

I'm playing Monday Morning Orthopedist and thinking meniscus tear. Talking to a buddy of mine this am who said he did the same thing running with his dog. Sharp pain hurt like hell but could walk ok as long as he didn't do a lot of twisting. Got a scope and back running a month and a 1/2 later.

This has nothing to do with his size he is more built than people think he is a load short but very strong.
Watching the Eagles game in particular I was watching Sproles and saw at least 2 plays in the open field Lewis wouldnt of gone done on first contact by a single d back like Sproles had.
Really hope hes ok.

Any change he can get stronger in the offseason without losing the speed

Belichick should just keep Lewis inactive through the entire regular season next year, then unleash him in the playoffs the same way he unleashed the ineligible receiver trick last year.
