I think we all know how the "Predict the Score" contest will go this week, so I figured we could have some more fun (at the Colts' expense of course).

Predict Brady's Stat Line

I am going with

37 of 47
392 Yards
4 TDs
0 INTs

Pats win 52 - 17

This is tough, because it's hard to predict what the gameplan will be. We're equally likely to run it down their throats as we are to passing it.

I thought this this morning actually. I could see us pounding Dion and Blount all day.

However... I really think this is the one game that Belichick lets Brady do what he surely wants to. I know we are all about not talking about personal motivation, but behind closed doors, Brady has to be so amped to unleash hell on this team.

I feel like brady is going to send a message, and actually not throw for monster yards. He's doing to sit back and let blount and lewis run roughshod all over them, and maybe get a qb sneak for a td.

5 rushing TDs

38-46, 555 yards (NFL record)
6TDs, 0 INTs
63-17

Yeah, can't see Tom putting personal vengeance above team success. If the Colts still can't stop the run it's going to be like a bye week for the defense.

Was thinking the same thing.

TB 10 for 12 175 yards and a TD.

Blount 25 for 205 4 TDs
Lewis 20 for 185 plus 45 receiving. 2 TDs.

And that's my conservative idea.

The Colts have had more success against the run this year. I'm not saying that they are good vs. the run, but they're average, so that's indeed better.

Thus I see them selling out everything to stop the run this time. 8 in the box, leaving lots of Pats receivers just one missed tackle away from going the distance.

What message? They are going to do what works best to win the game. They aren't going to pass or not pass heavy if it goes against what will work best.

99/100, 1200 yards, 15 TDs, 1 INT

On the last play of the game, Tom throws an intentional interception to D'Qwell Jackson and then spears him to the ground as the aghast Indy crowd covers their eyes.

I'm so torn...on the one hand, Belichick doesn't generally care about anything but winning. On the other he let Flutie dropkick the ball, let Brady go for the TD record, and definitely allowed some scorched earth vengeance in 2007. But then again, they haven't established much of a running rhythm this season, their young O-line is still largely untested so this might be a good game for them to pound the ball against a terrible front 7, give the O-line some confidence going into a stretch where they face some very stout D-lines (Jets, Dolphins, Giants, Bills, Broncos in five of the next 6 games).

So I'm gonna say:
20-28, 295 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT. But Blount/Lewis combine for 200+ yards and 3 scores, Gronk steamrolls their defense, and Lewis is the star of the show with 3 combined TD's and 200 combined yards. And the Pats hit 50+ points.

I expect it will be far more balanced this year - the Colts' run defense is better (although middling, at best, opponents may play a factor) but the pass rush is non existent. They had 41 sacks last year (7.6% of attempts), they are on pace for 19 (4.9% of attempts) this year.

BTW we are getting sacks on 11.4% of attempts compared to 7.0% last year.

For fun, assuming Football Outsiders pass rush rankings, the Colts have gone from 9th to 31st in sack rate while we have gone from 20th to tied for 3rd/4th.

If I'm Pagano, I start Hasselbeck in this game.

Luck is coming off an injury. We have no idea how healthy he is. We also don't know how much confidence he has.

Pats are going to come out with their hair on fire and issue a complete dismantling. 40-13

Let the vet take the bullet this game and start Luck vs New Orleans the following week.

Colts will still go 10-6 in that crap division.

Whatever it takes to win.
