From Bleacher Report: Owners don't want to appeal Deflategate decision

This may end Deflategate once and for all. Personally I think it is telling that Roger announced that the NFL would appeal only to now hear rumors that the owners may not support this. Is Roger losing confidence?

I hope the owners tell him that it's done and that there will be no more money spent on this.. Especially since it could mean that they end up paying Brady's legal fees.

Is a teary eyed Roger going to come out and say "while I disagree with the decision made by Judge Berman I can't let me own selfish agenda go above the rest of the league" ?

Roger has toooo much "integrity" to give in to owners when it involves the "integrity of the game "
Cant imagine many stadiums he would be welcome in, slimeball

He'll always be welcomed at Met Life

Is Roger arrogant? In denial? I don't get it.

Does any person who has honestly read the Wells Report believe it could withstand the scrutiny of an independent arbitration? Do any owners want the whole "witch hunt" made public?

I just don't see it.

Obviously the owners haven't heard Lester Munson's announcement that the NFL was going to win the appeal
The only downside if the NFL doesn't appeal is that we won't get to read the next Munson column about how the appeal court loss is actually a secret win for the NFL because it defies the expectations of legal analysts such as himself and the Supreme Court will no doubt hear this case and overturn the appeal court decision.

He'll spin as the NFL did the honorable thing and unlike Brady............blah blah

Remember when the storyline was the 31 other owners were cheering on Goodell and they were ecstatic in the way he was handling Deflategate and how this was winning them over after losing them with the Ray Rice fiasco?

I'm pretty sure they already filed their appeal but I'm not sure how far they have gone down that road. If true the owners would be telling Goodell to withdraw the appeal.

My guess is they filed the appeal for PR reasons. They wanted to make sure the story was that they felt the judge got it wrong.

I am guessing they will never follow through with the appeal. They have only filed notice. They will just let the deadline pass for the actual filing date of the appeal and hope no one notices.

I don't think Roger is losing confidence but the owners might be. RG seems to be oblivious to the way he is being played by his own staff/employees so I would think his confidence is sky high after they threw the victory party for him the other day.

McNair's comments make it clear the owners have not been updated on situation.
