It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I'm thinking the vehemence of Kessler's filing is partly to set the PR tone for just such.I think the defamation suit is a real possibility. A 200 million defamation suit against the Comish and the NFL and all proceeds to go to a fund for the players.
True.
On the other hand -- albeit unfortunately not very likely -- some of the Patriots' punishment could still be reversed. The sequence would be something like:
- The NFLPA shoots down Goodell/Pash in flames.
- Actual measurements show that the Ideal Gas Law applies to footballs.
- Kraft asks for a reversal of the punishment and the league doesn't have the chutzpah to say "No, it's a settled matter."
Or he could demand the return of those picks as part of the settlement of the defamation action.
I don't think he will file a defamation suit because outside of NE it would really work against him and also in term of his reputation long term. The cost benefits just don't work out.
Still I would personally want him to do so. Yee said that a great deal of what Brady shared with Wells was left out of the report. Given what we know from the appeal transcript I would very much like to see the rest of the ugliness of this business revealed. To what degree was Pash involved? Who released the false inflation numbers? What internal correspondences were there about them? What else that was relevant to the case did Wells choose to ignore?
It's the equivalent of "Because I"m the parent"...only it's being said to an adult child ..................Isn't that always the response? The next time someone tells me I can't do something i'm ginna say, "Yes, I can. Article 46"

I don't think Kraft's suing anyone for defamation.

I also wonder why Kessler didn't wait until the deadline.

No NFL filing as of yet; risky move by Kessler to give NFL access to his work-product early (also ironic given lack of access at hearing)
