Oddly enough their not asking Joe Theismann to come on and give his opinion. Lol. Sickening how their basically only letting pro nfl people really speak.

Heard they conveniently sent Willie on the training camp beat for August. He is regularly on Total Access.

Really? IMHO the best possible outcome would be for Berman to vacate the suspension, not order anything to replace it, and issue a scathing opinion of how bogusly Roger and the NFL operate in contravention of the CBA.

As I understand it: he judge can only uphold or vacate the suspension. And only base it on Goodell's conduct. He can't really get into the problems with the Wells report, Wells himself or The Ravens or Colts conduct. If the judge orders an independent arbitrator, the arbitrator puts everything back on the table. And the things that were out of bounds to the judge are very much in bounds to the arbitrator.

If the judge orders arbitration. The arbitrator can do basically everything the judge can, plus a whole lot more. :D

PS - If Judge Berman ordered arbitration. Dollars to donuts he'd strongly "recommend" the magistrate judge who's already serving as a go between as the arbiter. Which I think would be really good for our side.

I'm about 33 pages behind on this topic, but even to me its become abundantly clear that this release has been good to Brady. More and more people are starting to see the truth as we've been preaching it for the last several months

1. There never WAS any tampering of the footballs
2. Brady never had anything to do with any tampering of the footballs
3. The Patriots had nothing to do with any tampering of the footballs
4, Elements in the league office conducted a malicious campaign to discredit Brady and the Pats
5. Roger Goodell has supported those efforts every step of the way.
6. The Welles Report was NEVER independent, accurate, or fair
7. Nothing less that a complete admission of guilt by the league itself and their minions at the NFL Network and ESPN should be acceptable for the Pats and Brady.

BTW- May I suggest we keep track of those statements that are coming out now that are STILL trying to throw a negative light on Brady, like Stephan A, and when the dust settles on this case (and it will soon), demand some ACCOUNTABILITY and remorse for the damage that they've done

Unfortunately I doubt anything less than a defamation suit will make THAT happen. And don't start telling me that defamation suits are hard to make. How can anyone, at this point, make the case that the NFL league office (at least) didn't maliciously and with foresight go after Brady and his reputation. Florio would gladly give up his site and current position for the chance to take THAT case on.....and so would any bottom feeding lawyer in the country.,.....including the ones we have that have helped us through this. ;)

Ya mean like from Mortensen? How's that one going getting him to be "accountable"?

I'm no expert, but my understanding, at least, is that the problems with the Wells Report, which Goodell paid for and had done by someone who was acting as his attorney at the time, can be used to highlight that he was evidently biased as the arbitrator, which is grounds for vacating the suspension.

So I guess it's sort of what you were saying, not really sure how much we differ. Basically, that the Wells Report is itself evidence of Goodell's conduct. I could be way off though.

If Wells wasn't independent, and he was working for Goodell, then Goodell could not be independent as an arbitrator because he was arbitrating against his own attorney. Is that the point you are making?
Sounds pretty solid.

No, I'm less inclined to be mad at Mort, or any of the mediots who spread the League lies at the outset, or even those who fell for the recent "destroyed cell phone" scam.

I'm incensed at Stephen A. and all those mediots who are STILL trying to make a case against Brady, DESPITE the mountain of evidence that clearly supports his innocence THOSE are the miscreants that need to be outed and held accountable.

Thank God I didn't hear Stephen A's comments today, because I'd be no good for the rest of the day if my head exploded, because that's what would have happened. Given the assholes that he's supported all these years like Mayweather, I really want to see him and all the others have to stand up and explain their conduct.

The level of Goodell's confusion during the testimony is just about where you'd expect it to be.

One thing we can say about Judge Goodell: He's nothing if not thorough

Kind of incredible that you just handed out and confirmed the largest penalties ever given, it was about ball inflation, one of the pieces of evidence was the Patriots balls being overinflated in a game, and you paid so much attention that violation BY YOUR LEAGUES OFFICIALS that you don't even know where the game was.

Yeah I think we're pretty much saying the same thing. Except maybe I think Judge Berman can only say "Goodell screwed up because the Wells report sucks" whereas I think an arbitrator can say the same thing plus "and here's exactly why the Wells report sucks and who, in addition to Goodell is at fault."

But I'm no expert either. ;)

It's one thing to criticize the team, but another thing entirely when he constantly reports wrong and misleading information to fit his agenda.

Page 278 is a biggie. Wells admits that he believes McNally was trying to get the footballs to 13 PSI.

I agree Mort isn't the "evil" in this controversy. but, he's not innocent either (by not publicly coming forward and saying in light of the Wells report he can't stand by his sources and the tweet).

As for the rest. I was listening to local sports radio and they were talking to people and the "Brady is a cheater" mantra is still in full swing and probably will continue until the end of time. Unless, we can get access to internal NFL office documents or someone breaks rank.

I have yet to find someone, friends, who believe Brady to be guilty that done any research on their own. They just believe whatever is being repeatedly told by the media and are comfortable believing the information. Even my wife questions my judgment, and I agree that I have been far to invested in ths and I have a bias. But, I've done enough research, while attempting have a neutral perspective that I just don't see how people can see the NFL as right.

And he admits that McNally was trying to get balls to 13 PSI months after the deflator text.

Turns out this is yet another bogus report from the NFL. Transcript actually says the exact opposite.

Seton added,

Michael Silver @MikeSilver
Also, @judybattista said Brady team wanted record sealed as part of settlement talks. League said no bueno.

Agreed. Too bad there isn't the old policy of tar and feathering. Really. I can't stand pure homerism. I can't stand pure contrarianism. Why do we allow either to exist? Dale and Holley are on fire right now. Good for them!

Volin and Tanguay need to be fired for how they treated McCann this morning. They peddle lies and half truths. It's disgusting.

If the Globe paid their writers more than $18 an hour he would have been replaced by now. Sad to see how the paper has fallen.

I'd write for 18 an hour for the globe. Hell yeah. You could find good, honest talent to rotate in and out at 18. Hell half the posters here could do it.
