What would Kraft getting involved at this point accomplish?

I think he already has.

Why do you think Brady moved up his presser a full day? Why do you think the NFL hasn't interviewed him or Belichick yet? Why do you think BB was so much more forthcoming and respectful to the situation in his presser yesterday than he was at anytime during Cameragate? It's not easy to move someone like BB to change his press conference act.

"Getting involved" does not mean "public speech".

There are now three independent sources indicating that there is no evidence (thus no punishment).

The Vegas people, the Bostom.com guy amd Schefter.

The boston.com guy has been saying it since Monday or Tuesday. Long before the other two. If you want a source you'd have to search this thread for "bdc" or something like that.

It is a waiting game at that point.

He is "rkarp" on the boston.com forum.

I was initially very skeptical, but he has been right at every turn of this saga.

What would the fine be for flat out not attending media day and holding press conferences for selected media (I.e. no ESPN, SI etc) instead?

The whole team? Let's put it this way - -

More than if there is video of them deflating balls during a game.

Well I was at work for a total of 5 minutes, ( I live in nc) was discussing the pats with some other fans, and had a coworker walk by and say cheaters. Never heard this person talk about football or sports in my life. I hate the general public.

Loyko says rumblings isray one who brought it up. Prob high on oxy like he always is.

Albert Breer now desperately trying for another opening against the Pats:

Also, people need to stop mocking the story/investigation saying it's about "deflated football." It's not. It's about a pattern of behavior.

But King says ruling will be delayed after the syperbowl and clearly insuniates there was human tampering  .WTF.

The condition of the footballs on Sunday is coming into clarity.

This is significant, because it takes weather-as-a-factor out of the possible reasons why New England’s footballs could have lost air while the balls on Indianapolis’ sidelines would have stayed fully inflated. I am told reliably that:

  • The 12 footballs used in the first half for New England, and the 12 footballs used by the Colts, all left the officials’ locker room before the game at the prescribed pressure level of between 12.5 pounds per square inch and 13.5 PSI.
  • All 24 footballs were checked by pressure gauge at halftime. I am told either 11 or 12 of New England’s footballs (ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported it was 11, and I hear it could have been all 12) had at least two pounds less pressure in them. All 12 Indianapolis footballs were at the prescribed level.
  • All 24 footballs were checked by pressure gauge after the game. All 24 checked at the correct pressure—which is one of the last pieces of the puzzle the league needed to determine with certainty that something fishy happened with the Patriots footballs, because the Colts’ balls stayed correctly inflated for the nearly four hours. There had been reports quoting atmospheric experts that cold weather could deflate footballs. But if the Patriots’ balls were all low, and the Colts’ balls all legit, that quashes that theorem.
The conclusion: There is little doubt the New England footballs were tampered with by a human.
And his dislike for BB comes clearly on.

Watching the dueling news conferences, Belichick seemed more adamant than Brady in his denials, but Belichick’s a more adamant man.
He says to draw no conclusions until evidence has been unearthed but calls them guilty.

The longer the NFL waits the more it is implied that the Pats did something wrong, however I appears that the NFL screwed up and their well time release of controlled information backfired... so as long as the focus is on the Patriots, the NFL is sitting in the background washing their hands of all of this..

My guess is that the refs did not check the balls as they should have and there is no evidence of any malfeasance, if there was they would have contacted Brady/Belichick immediately..

This is truly sickening and shameful on Peter King's part.

He has already adjudicated this without any evidence of BB's or TB's guilt.

Then he says 'Ok, the readers have spoken about getting onto football matters, so I'm not talking about it anymore today'. That, ladies and gentlemen is what is called a 'hit and run'.

Oh, btw, he prominently highlights Mark Brunell's crazy moment as his proof for doubting Brady.

It was nice around 3 am when the vultures were sleeping. Another long day ahead...

That seems to be a trend the original article was released in the middle of the night, Mort disclosed his "information" around 11:00 PM and now Peter King...

Coincidental?? There is something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear..

Why don't one of these "reporters" contact Mallett, Hoyer, Guitierres or Cassel to substantiate the info provided by Brady.. why don't they contact Bill O'Brien.. instead of unnamed sources.

why is it so hard for him to assume that pats started with 12.5 and colts with 13.5 and when dropped the pats dropped below the limit.? because pats balls dropped 2 pounds? he is confirming that ?
I tweeted him but he doesnt respond.
The best line is
"That’s why I believe it’s important to draw no conclusions, until significant evidence has been unearthed."
and yet he assumes they are guilty so we should not judge if they are innocent without evidence.
What worries me is that he is close to the league office and rarely says anything agaisnt goodell

Because the league is leaking this info to these guys and letting pats twist in the wind.

Hate the pats have is unbelieavable. Last nigt i was driving home here in the bay area and Tim Ryan who is usully level headed said this is a bigger deal than spygate if they have been using these type of balls over all these years. All their wins are tainted!
Another radio host said these pressers made it worst and Pats should be banned for 1 whole year next yr to stop another team from even thinking...I had to switch channels after that as I was pissed off.

Precisely, the NFL looks like a good guy protecting their "shield", while the Patriots are the bad guys.. meanwhile they are generating tons of media coverage and interest...

INOW the NFL Refs were not doing their job..

What an agenda-driving idiot Peter King is.

This exonerates the Patriots, it doesnt indict them.

So not only did Patriot ball-boys deflate footballs while hiding from cameras, but they also reinflated them too?

Not quite. Remember what is reported to have happened -- at halftime NE's primary balls were confiscated and the backup balls brought in (after they were tested again at halftime).

So I take what King wrote to mean that the balls in play at the final gun were tested and were all up to spec. In other words:
  • Colts balls ok at beginning of game and at end of game.
  • NE primary balls ok at beginning of game, low at halftime (and never used after that).
  • NE backup balls ok at beginning of game, ok at halftime, ok at end of game.
So, unfortunately, that would rule out weather. Each set of NE balls were out in the cold and rain for half the game, but the primary set deflated while the secondary set did not :(.
