My personal favorite response to all of this:

"But now is not the time for sense. Now is the time for screaming, and settling old scores, and reveling in a scandal that's goofy but genuinely revealing of the tenuous web of gentlemen's agreements that allows the NFL to even function. The fractally expanding rulebook is impossible to follow to the letter, so players and teams and officials have carved out an unwritten shadow rulebook, with its own, more realistic bounds of acceptability. Linemen are allowed to get away with a modicum of holding. The Seahawks secondary can commit pass interference on every single play. Tom Brady can **** with his footballs. The NFL's existence is predicated on winks and nods, and it's hilarious (if worrying) that the whole thing can collapse thanks to one bitter team appealing the letter of the law." -

So there's a fella over at the BDC forums. He claims to work for ESPN in a smaller capacity and has often predicted various going-ons and happenings with the Patriots. Over the last 2-2.5 years, I can recall one, maybe two instances where he was later proven wrong, and dozens of times that his claims were validated. With that in mind, most take him at his word that he is indeed connected and has sources/knowledge.

He provided us with some great news this morning:

This would be great news, if true. But color me skeptical.

Is BDC boston.com?.

Who is this guy and do you have a link so we can see?

Hope he's right.

I've been saying this. Goodell is a disloyal weasel - in his mind he owes Kraft NOTHING. He'll come down on the Pats. I'm just worried it's something we can't come back from.
I wouldn't worry about it.

This sucks. I just want to focus on the stupid game, not this ****.

Unfortunately that means shutting yourself off from any and all media coverage. They were talking about this on the freaking TODAY SHOW.

No matter the outcome, this victory would be tarnished in the eyes of non patriots fans. So even if we win, we lose. Haters should be happy.

Bottom line is the seattle has a huge advantage going into this game. They can just focus on football while NE has to worry about all this.

Possibly. But I do remember NE curbstomping the Chargers a week after Camergate broke.. Granted, Seattle is a better team than that Chargers team was, but this Patriots squad could very well view this as a motivator rather than a distraction.. Not saying they will, but offering an alternative point of view...

And if Seattle wins, it's gonna be because their D comes to play and because we can't stop Lynch and Wilson from running all over us, not because of some story about deflated footballs.

Good thing I could care less what others think of the Pats...Just Win Baby...all I care about.

Minor point. . . . GRONK's tweet is still up.

The retraction would get printed like in the middle of every newspaper no media online would run it.

Darius Butler has the audacity to tweet about playing the game over, after his team got beatdown 28-0 after halftime. Does ESPN or anybody else expect me to believe that deflated balls really gave Brady and the boys a 45 point advantage? BS.

Bob Kravitiz is calling into ESPN, explaining how the Colts were whining about deflated balls in November, so they went out in this game (knowing they were gonna get whooped, BTW) looking for deflated balls to complain about. I know they did this intentionally to distract the already envious public from our possible SB victory. In fact, Goodell will allow the whole circus on the Pats sidelines during the SB, where we get different angles on the ball boy and the bag of balls. We'll get an official on our sidelines checking ball pressure after every play. What BS.

For a guy who just put his first post out 2 nights ago you're proving to be quite an informational resource. Keep it up man! :)

Can any of your Twitterers send this question out to NFL people about whether the ball boys are employed by the NFL or the team?

If this is the case, why would he have more information than Mortensen? And I know the media wants the biggest most sensationalist headline, and Mortensen only reporting the findings on the under-inflated balls would still technically be truthful. But it would still be a huge hit to his credibility if he left a good portion of the details out exonerating the Pats. I'm doubting this...

So, Mr. Kravitz, you're saying the Colts decided to intentionally poke the bear?

Congratulations, Colts, mission accomplished.

Aren't the ballboys paid by the Patriots though?
