It's being reported in tonite's Globe via Chad Finn that Gresh is leaving the midday show after the Super Bowl it's furthered rumored that Bertrand will step in.
I'm on my phone n can't copy the globe link.
Many hear have opined their dislike towards Gresh. While it's easy to criticize, there's none better between Gresh n Zo for good Patriot n football talk. for myself, I can say I'll miss him

I love Gresh. He is articulate and knowledgeable and entertaining without be a douche like Felger. Gresh was gracious with his hosts and compatriots on the air and never a **** like Callahan. Gresh never opined on politics like Fatty and the Forehead on WEEI. He will be missed. He was the best..

Gresh is The Best football guy on the local airwaves. Too many people (especially here) judge him based on his appearance instead of listening to what he has to say.

This is yet another bonehead move by the local radio stations. The Mother of All Bonehead moves, of course, was firing Ordway; the Big Show was the best sports show on the air anywhere in the country. Ratings bombed after Ordway was gone and so was the idiot management that fired Ordway.

Maybe Gresh will join Ordway on Sirius (http://sportstalkboston.com/); that would be an all-star team.

Once Gresh got over himself being a football expert after playing at URI for a couple of years and the couple of years it took for him not to be a Steeler fan he became rather good. He learned quite a bit on the job and you could easily see the improvement in his skills as a host. I like that he pointed out faults with the team without getting all righteous and was never a contrarian.

Can't wait for Mazz to go away. Put Gresh in his place.

I hate Mazz. He brings nothing to the table. Even if Felger is a blatant troll, his humor is at least something of value. Mazz just sits there kissing his ass. "Is it baseball season yet Mike?"

Back to the subject at hand, why is Gresh getting the boot out of that time slot? Gresh and zo is the best football talk on the air, I don't see how taking an x and o guy like Gresh out and adding Bertrand will improve things. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Didn't like Gresh for the longest time, but he had grown on me and matured as a broadcaster. He and Zo are the only guys who actually talk Xs and Os on the field with any regular basis on either station (the only time others talk that stuff is when they have guests in like Greg Bedard, Tom Curran, Andy Hart, or Paul Perillo).

I think Betrand can do a decent job replacing him. He is good in the lead chair with Chris Gasper on the weekends. I just don't know if he will have the same chemistry with Zo as Gresh did.

Felger and Mazz signed a five year extension a couple of days ago:

Michael Holley's contract is up next month. I wonder if 98.5 would make an aggressive move and grab him and put him on opposite those two to give a counter to their contrarian aarguments. I always thought Felger and Holley would be a good show, but Mazz sucks.

Gresh sucked less than a lot of other people on that station, and probably sucks less than whoever they will replace him with. At least he wanted to try and talk real football.

This is surprising. I also like Gresh and he works well with Zolak. He knows football. I hope Gresh continues on 98.5's Pats game day analysis, but you have to wonder about that if he's losing his regular slot.

The best radio football guy by far, IMO, is Matt Chatham. I also like Fauria and Chris Price.

While we're on the subject, WEEI really messed up changing its Sunday morning football cast. Replacing Dale Arnold and Chatham/Fauria with dopey ****erson and that jerk DeOssie was a big downgrade.

Mazz is awful all around. Bad news on that extension.

No! That's the other shoe to drop and a silver lining. Tanguay will no long be doing pre/post game duties!

I liked gresh post game on way home from game...gary can fall into a river for all i care

Gresch ... don't let the door hit you in the ass you blowhard ...

Gresch honed his craft from Jersey 'JackWagon' Red on WPRO am years ago ... nothing to brag about either.

Gresch never made it past the age of 12 ... you are what you are ...

Gresh worked hard over the years to improve, and it showed. While he and Zo weren't perfect, they were by far the best football show around here. FMB on WEEI on during the same time slot are horrible on football. Christian Fauria, as an ex-player, is embarrassingly bad. Gresh over time proved to be polite to callers, but could go hilariously ballistic on the usual idiot callers. Since their show consistently won its time slot, I'm guessing his dismissal was due to some off-air issue with management. I think they'll regret this decision. Bertrand, having been contaminated by Squeaky and the Douchebag, is a poor replacement, in my opinion.

I posted this in the other thread, but i'll miss him simply because he and zo are really able to talk football.

i still like felger and mazz

toucher and rich suck

Love Chatham best X & O guy in the local media should be on in a drive time slot.

Bruce Allen speculates that Gresh's apparent departure is a combination of his contract expiring and the station wanting to see what Bertrand can do in a featured role.

That must be why Tanguay been so anti Patriots lately. Tanguay a troll, but I really like Gresh. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

I remember the insufferable Gresch from the old days on 79 The Score, when his sophomoric humor would often lead me to change the channel.

He has grown and can now tolerate him about 60% of the time, sometimes he is still insufferable.. but the alternative is worse. Of all the radio personalities am surprised; Mazz, Felger, Merloni, Benz all seemed like they would go first.

Not sure why 98.5 would mess with this, EEI has an opportunity to make its move.. but they will remain the same... we deserve better.
