Is it just me or is today the day the WTF feeling from week #1's fail-opener has finally exited the system?

We had all our new pieces, and old pieces back, and waited all off season like kids waiting for Christmas, gleefully posting about this, and gleefully posting about that.

Then Christmas came, opening day, and our parents forgot the batteries for our best presents, and now no stores are open.

If I was going to the game, I'd cheer the return of the 4-3 like cheering the return of the 2012 NFL referees.

But now it's Friday.

It's week #2.

Brady to Gronk will reestablish the greatness of their duo and chemistry this week.

Vikings are going to get destroyed.

As John Adams once said, "Your team sucks, and ours is wicked awesome."

A win Sunday will change everything.

The Jets also go out to Lambeau field at Green Bay, where the Pack is hoping to avoid an 0-2 start, and the Dolphins and Bills play each other.

If the Pats can win at MIN, there's a good chance that 3/4 teams in the AFCE will be 1-1.

Rodgers is going to eat the Jets secondary for breakfast lol.

The Ravens buried Pittsburgh in a rage after the Ray rice imbroglio...the league has taken the Vikes superstar RB away from them this weekend. I'd love to say I'm confident but I'm not. If it was the heat, as I suspected, last week then the Pats should be able to play 4 quarters of NFL football...if it wasn't, it's squash city again.

again, this is a game, if I was betting, I would NEVER touch either way...not even the over.

Phins game is at Buffalo but they could still win it. EJ is a total bust.

Not worried about the Dolphins down the stretch though. As George RR Martin might say, Miami is a team for summer comforts, and winter is coming.

3 out of 4 of their December games are home games for them, but there's plenty of time for them to do their usual before that

I was adamant about not touching the Pats in week #1, due to several different factors.

This week....I feel much more confident about giving the 3 point spot on the road; particularly coming off of a loss that badly + attempting to avoid the 0-2 hole.

I'd also feel pretty good about taking GB over the Jets at home too.

We had 3 out of 4 teams in the division who were .500 or better last year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see another team challenge the Patriots for the division on some level, getting in as a WC spot.

I still think that BUF and the NYJ are hovering around .500 (between 6 and 9 wins), but I think that either of them could prove to be pain in the asses as well with some good games.

Packers have their problems (the same ones they've always had that we were sharing with them), but Rodgers is still a completely different animal than the Lulraiders

It's hilarious what little the Jets need to accomplish for Jet fans to have sudden delusions of grandeur, time and time again

uh...it think the line has moved to -5.5 Supa...better check

just checked..Caesars has it Pats -6 now

One Christmas I asked for a remote control race car or a football. On Christmas day, I ripped open a gift and inside was a brand new box with an official nfl football logo.

That was my cousin's gift box. Inside, I got socks! The game with Miami: I got my shiny nfl football box in the first half; the second half, I got a box full of sucks.

Pats better win. John Adams knows his stuff! 45-16.

I can actually see the Dolphins in the AFC Wildcard. They were my AFC Wildcard pick for the 2013 off season and just missed it.

Their recent `ascension` has sort of been defined by late season let downs though.
They aren't even exciting and epic let downs, like a Tony Romo let down.

The team just suddenly shrinks and their play off hope doesn't even get shattered. It just starts pathetically fading away around week 13.

Yeah, I'd have to feel pretty good if I were a Packers fan and I was going to the game on Sunday.

The thought of them going 0-2 (at home on Sunday) to start the season seems to have long odds in my opinion.

I was over it first thing Monday morning when I took off for a two day hiking trip to Greenleaf Hut and Franconia Ridge.

No radio. No internet. Not even any football podcasts on the iPod.

Even with that mind-clearing interlude, I'm realistic about the Pats. A second half offensive production of seven drives ending in punts, fumbles, and turning it over on downs suggests serious problems. It's going to be hard to win a game scoring zero second half points. I hope I'm wrong and they figure out how to at least kick a couple of field goals or something, but for now I'm braced for an 0-2 start. This did not look like a team that is ready to win on the road.

Holy ****! It was -3 when I checked a few days ago. I guess a lot jumped on the FG line, and then the Peterson situation may have driven it up even more.

I haven't been betting anyway, since the online books started taking forever to pay out--and that's obviously if you're lucky enough to come out ahead. It seemed like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. You've got to deposit your money now to hope to get it back in a timely fashion later, and man that's a bummer for me, because I enjoyed some mild football betting.

I live vicariously through those who continue to do so, but long story short---no...I wouldn't stray from my "no more than a FG on the road" rule. I just think it's a bad habit to get into if you're betting and giving more than 3 pts on the road in general. Let's hope it comes out this week though ;)

See, this makes me nervous--because I think you are a pretty knowledgeable poster.

I've got to admit though, I still think it was a tale of 2 halves. The first half certainly looked like a team poised to win on the road, and quite nicely at that. The 2nd half just crumbled in every way possible, but we've seen that before, especially with going down to Miami.

I think they continue to grow as a team, and solve some of what ailed them last Sunday; particularly with Peterson out of the game now on Sunday. By the end of next Sunday after the home opener, I think things are back to normal.

The Packers OL has issues and the Jets greatest strength is their DL. Rodgers has the mobility to still have a great day but this is a bad match up for the Packers. I am still going to pick them but Green Bay's OL is going to have to have a really good day.

For me this is all about the Patriots, they have to get a win this week and they have to start getting some definition as a team. Even without Peterson it is still going to be a tough game because they have to go out there and get really good performances from a group of units that played like sh.t last week. They got beat on every front last week, from coaching to special teams, and they need to show that's a bad half and not a trend. The bottom line is the win but I would also like to see some cohesion and some coherence in what they are doing.

While I can agree with you that it's unlikely to be the blowout that some initially saw, I'd have a hard time seeing Green Bay fall to 0-2.

Then again, it is "the ultimate reality show," so anything's always possible.

I think that we see that cohesion much more this week, and that it carries into our home opener next week as well. Yes, conservative, reserved, and shy Dan is looking ahead already ;)

Honestly, I think it helps us long term if our AFC East opponents have good records. Moves them down in the draft, we are more battle tested and winning the division once again tastes even more delicious.
