You are correct, Brady played so bad in the last two meetings that he had to be benched. The patriots were not competitive at all, it was over by the either the second or the third quarter:(. It would be a real shame to have two of the top Quaterback going at it and not have an interesting game.

the pats defense was the ones that played bad the last game vs the saints BB pulled Brady so brees would come out of the game and not score 50 on he's defense

has brady ever beaten brees ? Not sure he has.

Does preseason count?

We beat the Saints last year in the preseason... :)

I remember going to Training camp last Summer when the Saints came to town and remember Brees shredding our D in practice. Granted this defense is not last year's defense, but still. They are going to be VERY hard to stop.

We are in Foxboro though. We are coming off a loss. Those are the 2 good things as far as I'm concerned.

But, I'm prepared to lose this game. They are the better team right now. We are going to lose some games. I just want to see this team improve...so that by December, we've got a battle tested team that's seen it all...had some ups and downs, but is confident.

I want to see Dobson, Thompkins, Edelman, Amendola and Gronk form the team of WR's that can move up and down the field and put up points. And I want to see our defense be a legitimate top defense. We are working towards that now.

its going to be a hard fought game, but the saints arent going to go 16-0 IMO, this should be a good test for our defense if we can slow down the saints..

i'm feeling like our offense is going to break out with Amendola another week healthy and hopefully playing more snaps, and Gronk coming back

Nope 0-3.

Brady has 5 ints in those games, the Pats 6 total, and Brady was pulled for the last series in 2 of them.

Im not sure that matters sence they never really play against eachother. TB can beat anyone.

Watch our old boy Ben Watson get in the mix with a few catches, while everyone is looking to stop Graham,Watson may sneak in for a few chain movers.

LOL, you read my mind. Everyone forgets Moore,Watson,Meachum. Meachum had a perfect bomb TD drop vs Bears, he wont miss again. Aleast he didnt before :(. We would love when Meachum missed, because he never does it 2x,lol. I think most forget how good Meachem is in this system, hes a solid #3 or #4.

I can see SP looking to him in this game. Accually one thing I didnt mean to show, but saw in the video is watch how Brees in the pocket with pressure. His foot work is very good.

I will say this: I sure am glad this game is in Foxboro and not New Orleans. I think the Saints are one of the best home teams in the league. And, IMHO, so are we.

With the Saints running O mediocre, I think this D will be in Nickel all game long.

Now, this will be somewhat controversial, but Bill may elect to keep Gregory deep and bring McCourty to come down ~5-10 yards from the LoS and effectively double Graham with the help of Mayo.

I think this is a more effective combination than Mayo/Gregory, for the sole reason that you need more cover ability than usual from the duo to cover Graham. This has the downside of taking McCourty from his strength, so maybe Gregory/Mayo will get the call in the end.

Nice of you. Brees is pretty special. Hes no TB, but but hes a very accurate QB with amazing foot work. I think the Patriots are the touphest I have ever seen them sence 2001-2005, and thats one reason they are winning games. I went to bat for Vereen, and tell you the truth Thompkins is my 2nd scare after Gronk. I really like the way he plays. Be suprised if we pull this off, but if we do I think were making playoffs.
We already know you are, lol. BB/TB could grab sachin children off the street and still make the playoffs.

you know if you go Nickel with Gregory deep SP going to put sproles in the back field for a left G run off tackle to keep BB honest. BB will have to rely on spikes to stop it. But he will keep doing it. Its going to be a chess match my friend. Both guys trying to make the other reactionary, and get them off their game.
Your right though the OL is not run worthy.

Honestly, Spikes should be good for that. If not, he may ruin his shot at a big payday this upcoming off-season.

My biggest worry isn't one particular player beyond Brees. Even if you take Graham away Brees is hitting the backs with passes. He's hitting Colston. You bring in McCourty and Meachem is going to run like Forrest Gump on you. Nick Toon is going to blow by you as well. You don't bring him in, The LBers are going to give up a huge amount of receptions to Graham. What I'm saying is this: Brees will find a receiver if you let him. You have to mess with his timing and mechanics to have any shot of stopping him. How would you stop Brady? That's the only way you are stopping Brees. He's scary to blitz with Thomas and Sproles both able to catch on the run though.

Time to put Bengals game in rear view mirror. Gronk is cleared to play at what capacity we shall see.

Gronk is already cleared? I didn't think that was true yet, despite the more positive reports from Tuesday. I agree with you that he'll probably play on some level, but I don't think it's exactly written in stone yet either.

I do to, we greatly admire spikes.

Yes, I like this :) and moores playing this game. You get a sack its only 20 yards and a 2nd down, thats not hard for the Saints. SP will dial up screens and short dumps to exhaust the DL front line and relieve pressure. SP is great at using the blitz against itself, by letting them come in, until hes sure they are gased and the OL can handle them for a long pass. Look for a long pass after a screen.
3 ways you beat the Saints O
#1 lucky , just had a bad game , nothing clicking
#2 slow mythical offense. 7 minute drives, defence cant get off the field. Run game, short passes. No matter how fast we score, they dictate time. 49ers, KC, NE cant do that.
#3 Hit Brees, we cant operate without him. There are to many weapons on the field, and he will find them. Collapse the pocket, cover the screen, and get Brees to throw in 2 seconds, 3-5 is to long. You can double cover all day, He'll just pass to someone else, we have to many guys that are good, not great, but can catch.

I think were doing #3, because Brady is to dangerious.

I'm 100% certain it doesn't, but I found it a little interesting that the Pats seem to have only had dreadful days on offense when facing a Brees QBed team. Talk about setting the bar low when facing one of the best.

It was reported yesterday by Albert Breer several times and on NFLN when asked about his status.. It was also shown on ESPN about him bein cleared and actually they said he was cleared couple of games ago it was up to Gronk to see if he was game ready himself.
When reading Herald article they say a Source, well who is their source?

Reading that Herald article, it seems like they're almost saying Gronk is 90% sure to go but it's not 100% yet.

I expect 87 to be running down that ******* seam on Sunday in Foxboro.

While the pats defense is improved the Saints are almost unstoppable on offense. Saints will get their points so if the pats want to win they need to score over 30 points. Of course this offense is so bad right now, and even with Gronk playing, I don’t see them scoring the 30 points they need.

I'm aware of all of the news from yesterday that stated "he's likely to play," but I wasn't aware of any reports that claimed that he was cleared etc.

According to Brady today--"if he's in there, he in there. If he's not, he's not."

WEEI reports that they are awaiting the final word from Dr.James Andrews, so hopefully that will be positive.

It Is What It Is » Bill Belichick says Rob Gronkowski still ?day-to-day?, team awaits word from Dr. James Andrews

Hope you're right. He's got to come back at some point, right?

It feels like forever ago when the initial reports came out about him only missing 2-3 games at most. I assume it was much more muscle building/conditioning than injury concern, or they wouldn't even have had him practicing.

I'm not sold on the idea of depending on Spikes on the field against a speedy team that relies heavily on the passing game and getting its running back open in space.
