Just realized how much our front 7/pass rush has improved

pass rush is very week besides jones..which sucks

Fixed it for ya.

Ideally you'd want Wilfork off the field on third down for someone who is more of a pass rushing presence, yes. But putting someone like a healthy Myron Pryor next to him isn't bad, either. Wilfork demands double teams and could really open up some holes for Pryor... should he ever see the field again.

Cross your fingers that Myron Pryor can finally contribute as an interior presence.

The only other possibility might be a rise in Deaderick's play, and more use in the rotational DT format.

In my opinion, those are the only 2 hopes that we have, and they aren't too high of hopes.

EDIT: Unless they put a call into G.Warren, and he can somehow offer some fresh reps and pressure down the stretch of the season + into the playoffs?

I thought Cunningham did really well as interior rusher on passing downs; I think we would benefit greatly from the additional interior pressure. The problem then is who's going to play opposite Jones, as Nink doesn't seem to get consistent pressure: he has his flashes where he brings nice pressure, but he's too inconsistent. Might be caused by his responsibilities too.

I think we're getting more push upfield than last year, but they're having trouble finishing. Jones seems to be the only one who finish on a relatively consistent basis.

Our problem is that one of our guys wins his matchup on every play, but there aren't two guys winning their matchups on any one play. The good news is that we weren't getting to the quarterback at all at this time last year.

As well as Cunningham has played as a general contributor, I'm disappointed in his pass rushing. He is not getting it done on the edge so far. He is a mismatch for most guards though. A healthy Fanene or Pryor (unicorn) would be magical for this front seven.

A solid pass rushing presence next to Wilfork on third down would be a welcome sight too.

Like Brian Waters, Andre Carter apparently didn't the memo that said he was supposed to come back to the Patriots.

I agree with this statement whole-heartedly, the pressure IS there ,it's the finishing that's lacking. Qbs are definitely scrambling, but some (ahem Wilson) are making plays out of the scarmble.

When was the last time Pryor played? When he destroyed Brett Favre?

Without looking it up, I believe so. He's still on the team for a reason, though. When healthy, he provides that much needed interior pass rush.
