Of course I am a SD Charger fan and still recovering from tonight's game. I know many of you have seen many of the different postings from the chargers message boards. i do not in anyhow represent any of them. This is my own personal feelings about the game.

1. LT's post game comments seem to be out of frusturation. You can tell there was anger in his eyes during that post game interview. Even though I belive it was out of emotions, that gives him no right to say what he said about Belicheck.

2. Samething goes for Hobbs and his dance at the end of the game.

3. I do believe that the Chargers made mistakes to allow Patriots to win, but the key thinf is that the Patriots took advantage of those mistakes to win. It all goes to show you that a successful playoff team is on that makes plays when it counts and the pats did and the chargers didnt.

4. The difference between this game andthe one in '05 was that the Chargers allowed the Patriots to hang around in the game.

5. Lastly for now, great game and please ignore those fans, be it charger or patriot fans who bash opposing teams fan base or players. We are all biased in one way or another and thats what fuels us fans to become fans. Like I said before great game, patriots are in my book the best playoff team ever. To play at such a high level with the type of players you have is outstanding. Your team is the epitemy of a true early-American patriot who fought as an underdog against the night British empire. Until the nest time we meet...Stay Classy New England.

Nice to see a classy(**** I hate this word) fan come in and congradulate us after a heart breaking loss. Thanks and congrats on a good season.

Obviously I dont know how youfans react after a heartbreaking loss, seeign that you guys havent had one in quite a few years. I think these types of games can bring out the worst in us and sometimes the best in us.

I hereby predict "classy" to be the most abused word of the week.

That said... I'm sure everyone appreciates the olive branch from the west coast, and I also think everyone understands that there will always be mouthy ignorant fans on both sides of a game... generally speaking they're taken with a grain of salt.

Much respect to San Diego... awesome season, great organization and I'm pretty sure another playoff regular for the coming years.

I completely agree with what was said regarding making the plays that count when they need to be made. The Chargers completely and totally dominated this game from a football standpoint, however the Patriots limited the Chargers ability to capitalize on the miscues of Brady and Co. and the Patriots were fortunately able to capitalize on the mistakes the Chargers made.

That's where football games are won and lost.

Well when we lost last year I just sulked about it, but its nice to see you come in and congradulate us.

I'm glad for the classy post. I used to live in the SD area (in the Navy) and I have a soft spot for the Bolts. That said, to the victor goes the spoils. Did you see SB XXXIX or the AFC Championship Game that year? The Pats did the Eagle arm-flap dance after a couple of TD's and INT's. In the '04 AFC Championship game, the Pats players on the sideline were swirling their white Pats towels in retaliation to the "Terrible Towel".

You don't know how boring the Pats can be during the regular season. Bill Bellichick gives you no information about the team. The Pats talk absolutely NO smack during the season. You should've heard them lavishing praise on the Lions, Texans and Green Bay this year. I'm glad to see a little emotion out of my boys in blue and silver! Let me go on the record as saying that if SD won today, I would have rooted for them in Super Bowl XLI!

Good post, and unlike some others I still view LT as a class act. Emotions were high, and although I think he overreacted I can see how he would be upset over it. Much like I think Brady overreacted at Schotty's comments last year.

well, there was that division playoff game loss to Denver last year :)

Thanks for the post.

Last year was brutal so I know how you guys feel, especially with the team you guys had and the way you played all year, tough way to go out with all the mistakes, but you guys will be back i'm sure, too much talent not to be, good luck next season.

AWESOME post. Thanks for the classy thread.

Thanks for stopping by. Great game, Rivers impressed me as did Castillo.

Nice post chargers fan.

chargers were the only other team in afc I would have wanted to be in SB if Pats couldn't make it; (even with that fool merriman on the team).

we'll see each other next year; come what may this year. (i love the scheduling format 1s vs 1s.)

Wow great post...I will agree with you that the bolts made mistakes that "gave" the Pats thier chance to capitalize. The bolts played a great game, but just DID make some mistakes that allowed the Pats to come out with a win.

I think that is the "playoff experience" edge that some of us talked about for the Pats.

Posts like this from a bolts fan let me like the bolts again (always liked them...and SD itself) not a great ending to a great season for you guys but still a great season to build on.

You only have to look to last year. We did lose to a good Denver team, however, it's the way we lost it. Brady INT with the LOS inside the 10 yard line that was run back for a TD, a fumble caused by a friggin kicker's hit, a fumble by the extremely sure handed Troy Brown, a miss by "Automatic" Vinatieri (not to mention an absolute BS PI call in the end zone - but that one is a different story). I thought we could have won that game if not for so many uncharacteristic mistakes. I suspect many SD fans are feeling the same way. So yes, the Patriot fans can understand a tough loss.

I know it's of absolutely no consolation to you right now, but that was as tough a game as the Patriots have had and won in the Brady/Belichick era. Only Super Bowl 38 had me sweating more than this one did.

And I have no problem with what LT did or said. It was said in the heat of the moment, I know he eats, sleeps, and breathes football, so there couldn't have been a more upset person in that stadium.

Good luck to you guys, though I doubt you need it. That's a sick, young nucleus you have there in San Diego. We'll definitely see each other again in a January not too far away.

Thanks for coming back. Thanks for an excellent post putting things in a fair perspective. Hopefully Marty won't lose his job because he's part of the reason the Chargers tore it up this year. Best of the luck til next year (except in the Draft and Free Agency).

Perfect comparison. Took me two weeks to stop choking on my tongue last year.

nicely worded. Thanks SD fan

Well said.
You were the team I was most nervous about. I hope you have great success in the future (just not against us)!

I was thinking of this same example. Denver was as tough as it gets but with the exception of a blow up between Willie and Izzo(w/in our own team) that was caught on camera, I don't believe a bad word was spoken about opponents or refs after the game by our players. This message comes from the top and is unrelentingly drummed into our team. That's what made me gasp somewhat at LT's comment.
No doubt emotions were running high on both sides. What gives me pause is that LT spoke after he'd showered and had a moment to get a grip. Hopefully he'll learn from this.
Great game, right down to the wire and all that a true football fan could ask for. Thanks for the post and comments sdfan, I'm sure you are excited about the future of your very talented team, rightfully so!
