So...What's your gut feeling on the Super Bowl?

My gut feeling is that the Giants were a 9-7 team for a reason.

They beat us in the final minute earlier this season and neither offense could get anything going in the first half...We haven't lost since.

I'm not worried. Whoever executes and makes the least amount of mistakes will win.

My gut feeling is that the Patriots will be the better team on February 5th.

They were our last loss, if they beat us again for the 3rd straight time. They deserves the trophy.

With that said, we're winning this ****.

My gut feeling is brady score the game winning touchdown only for manning to take it away. That is my gut feeling

NYG 37 - NE 27 says my brain.

NE 34 - NYG 31 says my heart.

I'll go with my heart, F the GIANTS!!!!

:D

We are NOT giving up 30 points to the Giants. Guaranteed.

I'm confident. More confident than I was going into the Baltimore game.

The thing that's really exciting is I know if we play up to our capabilities then we will win, it doesn't even matter how the Giants play if we execute like we can. 4 quarters of good play. They can do it!

Not exactly brimming with hope for a win. Manning has all of his weapons which is bad for our defensive backfield (he didn't have them all during the first game), and that monstrous D-line.

If were to have any hope of prevailing Brady, the o-line, receivers, runningbacks, defense, and special teams will have to play better in this game then any game of the season.

Also if the game is close make sure Brady has the ball last or be up by more than one score. All said this is the matchup I didn't want to see and don't feel good about the Patriots chances of emerging victorious.

I won't be getting my hopes up but should the Patriots emerge victorious I will be very happy.

I hope we run, and punch their front 4 in the mouth.....Though we all know thats not going to happen

So im predicting an ugly shootout, with a late turnover by Opie Manning, leaving TFB just enough time to come back, and win. :rocker:

A chance at redemption for SB42 and People don't think Brady and Belichick are not going to come up big.

People!!

Pats win.

My gut feeling is that Tom Brady won't be throwing 5 times to an out-of-position Chad Ochocinco on 3rd down.

My gut tells me that this will be a knock down drag out fight. If NE plays their game (no turnovers & scores a touhdown or field goal almost every time), they win. If the Pats find a way to win, this would be the sweetest of all our SB's. I can't wait for Febuary 5th.

I will need some more time to think about it, but my gut feeling is that this game will likely end the same way the last 2 meetings between these teams have. A knock-down, drag-out fight that is anybody's game late. The Pats score to go ahead but Eli rallies them, making some miraculous throws (and equally miraculous catches), and the Giants break our hearts again.

Sucks.

But I am also optimistic that they will correct the things they've done wrong, that Brady - the REAL TOM BRADY - will show up and be pinpoint perfect, that the D will do just enough, and the Pats will take home the Lombardi.

After thinking about this matchup for the last day or so, I'm feeling a little more optimistic about our chances.

I know it's been pointed out but it bears repeating;

The Giants lost TWICE to the Redskins with Rex Grossman at QB. Something else to chew on is the fact that they also lost to Seattle.

Let me say it again, they lost to the Pete Carroll led SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

good points and their 9-7 record....we've played better teams this year.

Plus, Tom will have the best SB game of his career.

the defense has improved and we're busting loose on sunday for quick pressure on Eli all 4 quarters. 3 and out= TB

There were some who convinced me I should be somewhat reserved about this game. I was inclined to agree... Until... thanks to poster "ivanvamp" who posted this comparative last five game analysis:

NYG: 20 sacks, 28 TFL, 31 QB hits
Opp: 12 sacks, 29 TFL, 34 QB hits
NE: 19 sacks, 29 TFL, 31 QB hits
Opp: 11 sacks, 16 TFL, 19 QB hits

These are the results over the last five "hot" Giants games and the Pats past five games. This was when they got healthy; and it was after we lost Andre Carter too. Our D-line is 40-50 pounds heavier than theirs too.

Not only did the Pats Pass Rush equal the vaunted Giants rush, our much better O-line allowed 1 fewer sack, 13 fewer TFLs, and 15 fewer hits on Brady vs Eli.

Plus the Giants will be the smallest and lightest Defensive line we have played in a long time. Our now full strength O-line should be able to push aside, and smash their run defense too. Outside of undersized Boley their LBs are nothing special either.

The Patriots have averaged 37 points per game in their last 10 games including two Playoff games, they have allowed only 18 points per game.

Add in Brady's determination, and I suspect we will see a massive one sided game. I predict 35-15 Pats!

Here we are again. Our biggest strength in this game will be our offensive line. A far cry from our destruction 4 years ago.

Light is playing some of the best football he's played in years. Mankins is smash mouth and will not get bested again. Some think Brady is motivated to redeem that loss but I would argue Mankins is at the same level wanting t play well. Connolly imo is a better pass protector than Koppen and is better served to stand in and perform well in this particular game. He really has played well and must do so 1 more game. Waters is badass and I don't worry about him at all. If anything he gives us advantage when it comes to calming our right tackle Solder. Solder has given everything you could hope for from a rookie but for us to win he can't play like one SB Sunday.

Defensively I don't feel good about this game. The Giants will have Nicks this time as well as the emerging star Cruz with Manningham always the deep threat. Not to mention Eli having his safety blanket Bradshaw back in the lineup. We were missing no starter on Defense I am aware of. Spikes,Chung,Carter all played. Now we are without Carter but have jettisoned special teams guru Sergio Brown out as a starter on the defense and the secondary has played better as of late. Hope that will be enough.

As any Patriot will tell you though, you have to play the game. Tipped passes turn into interceptions, strip sacks, fumbles, defensive TD's special teams TD's. It's all part of the game and this Patriots squad is very capable of taking advantage of these type's of things.

My gut feeling is the Giants are the favorite and should win this if they play like they've played for the past month. But my gut feeling has been wrong before. Last year my gut said the 2010 Pats were destined to go all the way, and we know how that ended. Just last week my fear was the Ravens having more stars on defense would make the difference, and even when the Pats gave the ball back to Baltimore I thought here we go again. And that was wrong.

And I want to believe that Brady's fierce competitiveness and determination, and the team's rallying cry for Myra Kraft, will be enough to take down the ****y Giants. But sports can be cruel, so I'm not expecting anything but a competitive game.

My gut feeling is the Giants DL won't be able to duplicate their previous performance and will have to go to plan B. My other feeling is that the OL of the Pats will be the games' real MVP even though either Brady or Gronk will win it. In addition, Eli won't play as well as people think..Lastly, there will be a 3:1 Giants/Pats fans ratio, but it won't matter because most fans will be upset in the 4th quarter when the Giants are losing and will leave early..

I was so freakin stressed out during 2007 due to the perfection pursuit and then subsequently decimated by the loss - this is a gift in multiple ways - feeling positive about the outcome without the hand wringing...

I agree with this; I wish I could be more positive. My general thinking is that the Giants' dominant defensive line will slow down Brady just enough and that Manning will give our secondary fits. I thought we'd beat the Giants at Gillette this year because they were missing some key people, and look what happened. Maybe BB and his coaches have something brilliant up their sleeve. Maybe the breaks will fall our way. I just don't see how the Patriots can be favored.

x2...giants are just playing better right now.

my gut is telling me this is a bad bad match up for the pats...but also...the team that wins the turnover battle....will win. You can count on that. And that is something the pats can win as long as brady plays mouch better than the ravens game

If the pats do lose...giants will have the right to forever talk down on us unfortunately. If the pats could have had 5 SBs instead of 3...it will hurt...and bad

Exhibit 1 : The vaunted speed Pass rush of Denver Broncos. How'd that go the 2nd time around ?

This OL is much much superior to the 2007 juggernaut which peaked midway thru the season and then limped their way thru playoffs.

This time the Offense is balanced. The DL and LB are push, and while secondary is weaker, the Defense is peaking now and far more healthier than the scrubs that played against the Gints in Reg season due to injuries

There is nothing up the sleeve needed. Just smash mouth football and as BB says....DO YOUR JOB !

I expect nothing bust the best from our strong willed team. Even BB has said openly this is one of the most mentally tough team he has had in a long time !! After 5-3 they've reeled of 10 straight wins !

Relax and Enjoy the SB and have faith in our team.
