I will post my thoughts later, but I just want your honest opinion, not swayed by any bias in how the question is asked or an upfront argument one way or another.

I know there are other aspects to ultimately consider, such as what other changes might arise (expanded roster size, a baseball-like "disabled list", shortening of camp, etc.), but since that's an unknown, just focus upon what would be your intrinsic preference.

2 more games for my blood pressure to go up.no thanks

Ill take less preaseason games for more meaningful games.

People act like the preseason is worthless, but a lot players use it as an opportunity to show the coaches what they can do, whether it helps them make that team or another.

Do you notice how sloppy the football can be for the first couple weeks....if it's an 18 game schedule the first two games would probably look like week 3 of the preseason....and by week 3 they would be in regular week 1 form.

Then all the injuries and blah, blah, blah.....bottom line is

Don't f*** with a good thing.

Definately. Paying to watch a glorified intersquad scrimage is pure BS. That is what the NFLPA has all but admitted preseason games are. If makeing two of these "preseason games" count is such a great danger to the health of the players what does that say about how much effort is put in to wining those games. If the preseason is treated as no more than an intersquad scrimmage then let the NFL have the admision cost be adjusted to reflect that.

i like the NFL as it is

dont try and fix something thats not broken

Heres the bottom line on this.....

Any moron knows the answer to this....

IF YOU HAVE A GOOD TEAM AND A SUPER BOWL CONTENDER YOU DO NOT WANT 18 GAMES

IF YOUR TEAM SUCKS THEN THERE IS NO REAL REASON NOT TO LIKE 18 GAMES,MORE GAMES MEANS MORE HOPE YOU CAN SNEAK IN WITH 2 LATE WINS

Nearly 200 years ago the game of football started its evolution from the game of rugby. In 1906 the first legal foward pass was thrown. In 1930 helmets became required. In 1951 it became illegal for an interior lineman to receive a foward pass. In 1956 the first sholder pads were used. So the game is constantly evolving and should continue to evolve.
If people with your atitude were taken seriously we would still be playing rugby instead of NFL football. We have been f***ing with a good thing for over 200 years and over all I enjoy the progress I have seen and hope to continue seeing.

Sixteen is plenty. As I've said before, the best answer (IMHO) is to either stop requiring season ticket holders to buy preseason tickets, or lower the price of said tickets. But of course that's not going to happen.

It's a tough call because face it: anybody that is so into football that they spend time commenting on a message board about it even after their team's season has ended, well it goes without saying they can't get enough football - and would relish more games.

However, I can't help but believe that the quality of the product will deteriorate with a longer season.

As much as it kills me to say it, I say leave it at 16 games - though I am very confident we'll be seeing an 18-game season no later than 2013.

I also gave reasons why don't like like it...I didn't just say "Don't **** with it".

Take out my last sentence and argue with what said before that, because those are the true reasons why I say no 18 game schedule.

I love football so much I enjoy watching all 4 Pats preseason games :D

....and it better stay that way.

Any moron knows the odds of a good team are better in the long run than a sub par team. The shorter the season the more the fluke wins of a subpar team will influence the season. Think of it, if the pats play The panthers one time what are the odds of the pats loosing? Maby 20%. If the Pats play the panthers 10 times what are the odds of the Pats loseing 10 games? Close to 0%.I may get beat a few hands by lucky poker player but in the long run he is going home poorer.

16 games please. 18 is only to fatten the owners' wallets. I don't think it would be good for the game to put two more weeks of wear and tear on pro football player bodies.

But, that's the point, they don't put much into those games and a lot of (not all) injuries are avoided. So, while injuries can happen in any game or on any practice field, the reality is that there is a much greater chance of injuries in two more regular season games than in two "inter-squad scrimmages."

Most of us just ignore or pay scant attention to these games. As far as I can see, the only people really "wronged" by the two extra pre-season games are the fans who buy season ticket packages. But, the cash from those seats and concessions are an important part of the owners' revenue package.

Remember. What the owners are really trying to get out of this is a TV package that is a lot fatter. Two more regular season games is as much as 12.5% more revenue. Off of a base of a nine billion dollar contract, that's a lot of money.

16 game season. You see enough injuries already in a 16 game season. If you gonna have 18 games then you better have 2 BYE weeks!

I love the NFL as it is now : 16 regular season games is the best solution as every single game is important

do not excite me to think of a season of 18 games so I hope it remains like now; my vote is without a doubt for 16 games per season

Theoretically, that is certainly true, but people who aren't morons are inclined to look at all the factors involved and not just at the theory.

Teams that are going on to the postseason have more to lose in two extra games than do teams who are not going on. Injuries can quickly turn a team that might well win the Super Bowl into one that isn't going to get there. Any time a player is on the field, there is the possibility of a season ending injury. Ask Wes Welker. The best teams have two more shots at losing players, and usually nothing to gain.
