Why is everybody so eager to "punish" Mankins by sitting him? Once he's ready to help, it would punish the team more than Mankins himself.
The Patriots already made their stand. They wouldn't cave, ran up the league's best record without him, and now it appears he's reporting earlier than strictly required. Message sent, now let's play football!
Are you joking?
The idiot turned down a reported $35M 5 yr contract to play a sport, in the middle of a near depression. On Principle. What Principle? I'm a gready spoiled ***** out of touch with reality.
He hasn't practiced a single minute in months. I don't see him making this line better for at least a month.
Trade him to Buffalo for a bag of used practice balls, let him see what its like to win 10 games in the next 5 years.
screw him.
Do you think him reporting early means he has spoken with the Pats and was assured he will be active on Sundays? I can't imagine why he'd report early if he thought the Pats would just be benching him the rest of the year anyway.
IMO woodhead...

I've been one of the bigger Mankins critics here, but I'm willing to hear him out over the next couple of days. The timing of this announcement is interesting, I have to say.
Because it sends the message that you can't screw over the team and then just stroll back in a couple months later like everything's OK. Letting Mankins just walk back in like nothing happened only increases the chances of this happening again.People screaming for him to be benched or inactive are extremely irrational. Please explain your logic as to how making him inactive improves the NEP.
