...

498 wrongdoings in 10 Years equaling nearly 50 arrests a year, its out of control.

That works out to just about one arrest a week. So, over the last ten years, on average, one NFL player has been arrested for something every week. Not a stat of which to be proud.

I wonder how this compares to the NBA, NHL, and MLB. I'm guessing the NFL has the most arrests.

In itself a meaningless statistic, since NFL teams have 45 (53) man rosters, the NBA 12 (15), the NHL 22 and for MLB 25 (theoretically up to 40). The right comparative stat would be percentage of roster players arrested, if anyone has a whole lot of free time on his/her hands and wants to figure it out.

Yikes.
10

There are 32 teams. Each team has 53 players. Each team has 8 members on the practice squad. Each team has about 8 guys put on some sort of reserve list during the year.

Thats roughly 2200 players.

50 arrests a year is 2.2%

There were 14M arrests in 2008 in the USA. There are 300M people. Thats... 4.6%.

Naturally the NFL will have more the rosters are much much bigger than the NBA and MLB especially when you factor in practice squads.
