He hated Bill Parcells' defense and was spanking his monkey in the press when Wade Phillips brought his version to town. I don't see NE taking an interest in him.

absolutely yes... would solidfy that side of the line. would do that in a heartbeat

Eek.. for a 2nd round pick??? Oh Lord no! Maybe for a 7th.. He's just an average player...

No. Not for a second. Maybe for a 4th. But you could get a guy a lot cheaper in the 4th.

Definitely not for a second.

No. Spears is average. A slight upgrade from Green, but only maybe, and not much else.

Give me Joseph or Woods in the 3rd or 5th, and I'll be happy.

Just my opinion, people over rate draft picks. If a second round pick gets the Pats an 'average' NFL player I would make that trade every day of the week. It is 50/50 that a round 2 draft pick does anything beyond special teams / emergency backup.

That percentage drops way down for a 3rd (also the Pat have no 3rd round pick) and way way down for a 5th rounder.

Spears would be a poor mans replacement for Seymour, not Green. Green was purely a pass rushing specialist (and not a very good one), he had no ability to paly all three as a DE in the 3-4.
