OT: Stafford plays for DET

Johnson plays as well

[please link]

DETROIT (AP) - Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was in
the starting lineup Thursday against Green Bay, less than a week
after separating his non-throwing shoulder.

The rookie passer and receiver Calvin Johnson (knee) each missed
three days of practice after suffering injuries in Sunday's
dramatic win over Cleveland.

Lions linebacker Ernie Sims was out with a hamstring injury,
defensive end Dewayne White with a hurt toe and safety Ko Simpson
with a knee injury. All three are starters.

The Packers, who lost linebacker Aaron Kampman and cornerback Al
Harris to knee injuries last Sunday, started center Scott Wells,
who missed two practices with a sore knee.

Well, color me surprised, honestly. Stafford especially didn't look like he'd be back this soon. It's a good thing though, obviously they wouldn't have a shot at beating GB without them.

And a good place to post this...Stafford mic'd up in the Browns game. Kid REALLY shows tremendous guts near the end after the shoulder hit, even more apparent here than it was on TV. Maybe the Lions found themselves the real deal for a QB, after all!

In memory of Mr. Bill: We'll be watching today and GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! :singing:

That's a tough ************ right there. I've separated my shoulder so bad that I had tendon damage. Trust me when I say that everytime he throws, that thing is going to pop. If he gets hit, forget about it. First time that happens I would be absolutely shocked if he didn't have to leave the game.

Wow, give the points to Detroit if you're betting. This isn't going to go well for them.

Jesus. What a god awful slew of terrible games during the day.

Stafford to Johnson, TD.

Lions 7-0

I think the Lions may actually be a watchable team. Stafford is a real good young QB who seems to be getting the hang of this NFL thing.

Re: OT: Stafford plays for DET

Lions might be buliding a good foundation with Stafford and CJ.

One difference between the lions and the pats.... You wouldn't see a patriot player celebrating like Word' Daniles did after commiting a blatant penalty.

Can't watch this ....more commercials than football. I think GB scored during a commercial break.

Flags all over, 3 Personal Fouls already

It should be 21-0 Green Bay right now. Too many mistakes. They had better cover the damn spread.

Yes, it is a bad afternoon slate. HOWEVER, people need to stop *****ing about it (i'm not saying u were kontradiction).

NEWS FLASH = IT AINT CHANGING.

You want to know why, cause the NFL doesn't need a marque matchup, hell they don't even need a decent matchup on the afternoon slates for thanksgiving, they're gonna win the ratings for the day anyway. EVERYONE watches on thanksgiving. Whether it's GB DET, OAK DAL or NE and NDY....people will watch.

I know, i hate bad football too. But until all of the TV's get turned off during dinner we're gonna be stuck with bad matchups.

Had seen that posted before so hope that helps

Whats the spread?

I think you are crazy backing a team with a terrible secondary who have injuries now to make it even worse against a QB who threw for over 400 yards last week and Megatron.

I still think the Packers should win it but its very likely to be a one score game.

I'm really impressed with Stafford, he has been making something out of nothing in Detroit. A bad offensive line, no running game, god awful defense, etc.. basically thrown into the worst team ever assembled.

Plus it's funny to see him do better than Sanchez, who is in a perfect situation as a rookie QB to succeed.

Re: OT: Stafford plays for DET

after listening to the mic'd up that man has a giant set of balls

The Lions physicians are just as dependable as the Lions players.
