I know this has probably already done before, or maybe not, but anyhow, it's my 101st post and thought I'd start a thread for once.

My Top 5 are: (Besides Coach BB! and Mr. Kraft)

1) Rodney Harrison - I've seen the tapes and he's left his soul out there for this team.
2) Ty Law - Incredible key player.
3) Tom Brady - Monday Night bumped him up some spots.
4) Corey Dillon - I miss that 2004 season, was fun, especially how we handled Pittsburgh in the playoffs.
5) Tedy Brushi - Like Rodney, he left his mark and heart out on the field every game.

942. Robert Edwards
943. Reche Caldwell

Actually, now that I think about it, I feel bad for Edwards. Oh well.

Starting in 1976 (when I started watching)...

TOP 3
John Hannah
Andre Tippett
Tom Brady

After that, it gets difficult...

Ray Clayborn
Mike Haynes
Steve Nelson
Sam Cunningham
Mosi Tatupu
Julius Adams
Steve Grogan
Stanley Morgan
Willie McGinest
Drew Bledsoe
Ty Law
Troy Brown
Tedy Bruschi
Richard Seymour
Mike Vrabel
Rodney Harrison

I count 19 great Patriots in the time I've been watching. Guys like Tatupu, Grogan, Nelson, Bruschi and Troy Brown were glue guys rather than top performers, so if we're talking performance only...

1. Brady
2. Hannah
3. Tippett
4. Morgan
5. Haynes

with Ty Law a close 6th.

with too many others that are right there with everyone except Hannah and Brady; Bruce Armstrong, Tip, Bruschi, Haynes, Law, on and on. Probably hard to argue with anyone's list.

1. Terry Glenn
2. Chad Jackson
3. Bethel Johnson
4. Michael Bishop
5. Chris Canty

:D

I've only been following football since 1995-1996 so my list is going to be extremely short since I haven't had the privilege of following some of the older players...

1. Tedy Bruschi: Not much else to say. He was a true Patriot through and through. Dedicated his career to this team. He always gave 110% on every play and came back to us after having a stroke and still gave his all. I'll miss him. Hell, I already do.

2. Tom Brady: The greatest quarterback this team has ever had. Led two huge drives in two huge Super Bowls to set up the winning kick for us and his passing led us to yet another one. Let's hope he takes us to the Promised Land again this season.

3. Ben Coates: I always remember him making some big catches for us. Well, big before 2001 standards, heh. Probably the best tight end this team has ever had. I would love to see what he could do out there today with this offense.

4. Troy Brown: Did whatever was asked of him. Helped Brady come along in his first few years and came up huge in our first Super Bowl win. He also helped us in the DB position when injuries took their toll in 2004. I'll never forget watching Asante get hurt and, even though he was very young, feeling my heard drop as the thought of "who are we going to put in at cornerback now?" creeped up in my mind. Luckily for us, Troy was ready to step in and "DO HIS JOB", no matter what that job was.

For the fifth, it was a tie between Rodney and Bledsoe but I'll have to go with...

5. Rodney Harrison: Hit like a mack truck and sacrificed his body on every single play. He talked and backed it up as well and opposing receivers feared going over the middle. They were ultimately afraid that #37 was roaming around out there somewhere, waiting for the kill. Since the safety position is probably my favorite in all of football, I will always admire the way he played the game.

Honorable mention goes to Drew Bledsoe. He was the man when I was very young and first started watching football and he helped put this organization on the map. I'll also be eternally grateful to him for being a class act and riding the pine in favor of Brady without making too big of a deal out of it, then coming in and playing like a champ to lead us by Pittsburgh in the 2001 AFCCG and into the Super Bowl.

I pretty much agree with you that Brady, Hannah and Tippett are the top 3. All are HOFers based on careers exclusively with the Pats.

Mike Haynes would probably be my clear #4 except that his career was divided between NE and Oakland. I'd say he and Richard Seymour probably get the nod, with Ben Coates #6.

Okay my real top five:

1. Tom Brady
2. Troy Brown
3. Tedy Bruschi
4. Rodney Harrison
5. Randy Moss

this seems like an offseason thread to me

Brady
Law
Vrabel
Bledsoe
(does Belichick count?)
Bruschi

Bledsoe
Law
Brady
O-T-I-S Smith
Seymour
------------
then
Haynes
Armstrong (did he ever allow a sack?)

Good call on Otis Smith. He was awesome, from what I can remember.

If you were allowed non-player members : BB by a mile...

*Brady
*Brown
*Law
*Willie Mac (sat on the ground a few minutes, then stuffed E. James on 4th down)
*Moss

This is tough. I have been following them since the early seventies and have liked a lot of players over the years. I have to split it up between the red team and blue team.

Blue team:
Tom Brady
Tedy Bruschi
Troy Brown
Willie McGinest
Drew Bledsoe

Red Team:
Steve Grogan
Steve Nelson
Andre Tippett
Andy Johnson
Sam Cunningham

My list left out Ben Coates and Bruce Armstrong. They should be on there.

21 Patriots since 1976 are deserving.
