BB may roll the dice and hope Mallett is far enough along to do ok with the number ones. Hoyer didn't prove much tonite.

It would free up the roster for a spot where the extra player would provide more. LB is getting thin and the season hasn't even started. An extra OL might be neeed also. I think there are quite a few players that might provide more upside at their position than carrying 3 qb's.

Then you aren't paying attention to how this works. Gaffney was let go either because he is being given a chance to find another home before the preseason is over, or because he's hurt and the team needs another body for the last preseason game.

Golden opportunity for Mallett to run with the #2 job and never look back and...yuck! Granted, there were some drops, some pressure and the obvious slanted game planning to get Bolden his carries to see what he has but he just doesn't seem to have "it" at this point.

We also had a game to play tonight with about 20 players inactive, and Gaffney wasn't able to play.
It is still very unknown whether Gaffney is ready to play, and whether he was cut to bring back when he is ready, but not waste a roster spot until he is.

After tonight, I'm not so sure I would classify Weems as a lock.

We agree? Sign of the Apocalypse? LOL

He almost had the best night of any QB on the field... And it wasn't his fault he didn't.

Even for the PS, although he'll probably clear waivers.
