Well he has overcome adversity in his own life so it is not a surprise that he 'gets it' when dealing with others.

He is a very easy guy to root for, glad he is on our team.

OK. It's official. Marcus Cannon is now my favorite Patriot. I can relate to him. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year. I had surgery last September so I am now cancer free. Watching the Patriots last year was the best therapy I could have.

Being diagnosed with cancer is a scarey thing. Right after they drafted Cannon was when I was diagnosed, so I had some empathy for him and have followed his progress. It's amazing that he can play football in the NFL after treatment. 8 months later for me, and I still leak like a seive whenever I sneeze, cough, or laugh. I have to go to the bathroom every hour. I have a prescription for oxycontin because of pain spasms I still get and it feels like I have acid coming out when I go. I am now fighting a staff infection. I have also lost 25 pounds since last year, but that is probably because I stopped drinking. Hey, but I was able to get a Medical Marijuana card so it's not all bad. But I am now cancer free.

So, if you are over forty, get your prostate checked. The few seconds of discomfort is a lot worse than the alternative.

Cannon was lucky someone made him get a biopsy done. His cancer could have esily gone undetected and who knows what would have happened to him.

Ironically, that "someone" was almost certainly associated with an NFL team, based on results of the medical exams at the Combine.

Cannon was already my favorite for fighting cancer and playing football that season. He showed people who said it couldn't be done that they were indeed wrong.

This latest action taken by Marcus is just another reason why he "gets it" when so many clearly don't.

I believe it was the Colts. They were giving him a physical and saw the growth and insisted he gets a biopsy. Ironic that the Patriots will benefit by the Colts action. Actually it is Cannon that benefits the most.

Slight thread hijack here but you're spot on about getting your prostrate (sic) checked. The awful digital exam is important but won't detect cancers that aren't getting ready to burst outa the little sucka. PSA rise is another indicator but it's been criticized for too many false positives. Have it checked again and if your urologist says a biopsy is warranted, do it. The biopsy is uncomfortable like someone snaping a rubber band behind your balls 12 times (they take 12 samples outa your butt) but once over it's fine. There is a finite complications rate from biopsies but risking having cancer spread to your pelvis, putting you in a wheelchair for the rest of your brutish life makes it a to do.

Lots of treatment alternatives if it's severe enough Gleason wise to be worth treating. Radioactive balls in your sack, very fine focused radiation and surgery with the popular robotic option for fast recovery. The killer robot left me feeling fine, not even aspirin and I could resume kickboxing in 6 weeks although I squirted every time I jumped (all 3.6" vertical leap!) for the next 4 weeks. Doing abdominal and keigel exercised before and after surgery makes squirt recovery faster.

Ex-Patriot Michael Haynes is a spokesperson for prostate cancer research & treatment. Of course he's speaking in a squeaky, high pitched voice now.

The only reason I posted this is because I was diagnosed with cancer when they drafted him so I felt a certain relationship with Cannon. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. I'll blame it on the meds, LOL.

I am so glad to hear it was successful for you. My issue is complicated by the fact that I had kidney stones also. Went through the procedure for that. Then had the robotic surgery. I was told that the cancer was all throughout the prostate and that my prostate was 3 times the normal size which made the surgery a lot more difficult. I am going to see my 4th different urologist later this month. None of the ones I have seen so far tell me that they can help me. I don't care about the squirting. I want them to tell me what is causing so much pain when I urinate.

Getting the finger in the butt for a minute is a piece of cake. Try dealing with procedures that involve tubes up your rod.
