OMG. This is too much. First, Gonzalez, Lloyd, Stallworth, Branch back, then now Gaff. Too much WRs and not enough RBs. Gaffney is probably already the 3rd best WR on the team.

My predicted depth chart by the season would be:

1. Lloyd
2. Welker
3. Gaffney
4. Stallworth (due to lack of speed at WR)
5. Branch (for depth, in case Lloyd, Welker or Gaffney get injured)
6. Edelman (ST & some defense if needed, Welker insurance)
7. Slater (ST)

Gonzalez and Ocho will be cut for health and playbook concerns, but this is just my predictions. Feel free to disagree.

Still think Ocho will make the team

Lloyd
Welker
Gaffney
Ocho
Stallworth/Branch/Gonzalez

Slater is ST only, Edelman is gone imo, Ebert to the PS, maybe stash Branch on the shadow roster.

My prediction of how "the rest" end up:

Edelman: cut (Vereen takes over PR and KR)
Ebert: PS
Underwood: Cut
Gonzalez: Cut
Ochocinco: Cut
Branch: #4 WR
Stallworth: #5 WR
Slater: #6/ST

We keep 6, I don't see 7.

Good signing!

Does anyone remember the post 2006 season Caldwell vs Gaffney arguments?

Those were great

Allow me to say BOOOYAAAAH, for obvious account name reasons.

(My family name is Gaffney; I'm probably one of few Gaffney Patriots custom jersey owners, which always gets strange looks in sports pubs

..one thing about him is intersting though, he's really come on strong over the past 3 seasons, each time taking a step down in QB.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/.../jabar-gaffney

From Brady to Orton he jumped from a #4/3 WR to a #2 WR and had a ~270 yard improvement with the added workload.

From Orton to Orton/Tebow, still a #2 WR, ~140 yard improvement. All 3 seasons in McDaniels system.

From Orton/Tebow to Grossman/Beck, still a #2 WR, ~70 yard improvement. New System, new teammates.

He's come on strong since leaving NE. He can produce as a #2 WR (and target) in the NFL, he'll be the best 4th or 5th read in the NFL this season by a landslide.

We could potentially have an offense with 3 1,000+ yard pass catches and another 2 between 700-1000.
