I can't see us only carrying 8 db's. I don't count Slater as a db. As of now,
the three you mentioned are all on my squad. Plus Wilhite. Maybe, we go with
8 ol or 6 dl. But, we will have at least 9lb's and 9 db's. Neal starts season on
PUP and you have your 53.

Ty Law would replace Webster IMO if we sign him. I'm curious to see M.
Richardson too. We might be selling him short.

I think Junior would replace E.Alexander. Seems like Izzo is one of BB's
favorites. His day to be cut will come eventually. Just don't think it's time
to do it this year.

Neal to the PUP is my likely solution also (and add back Wilhite). I just get tired of everyone saying that there is no reason to believe that Neal will not be ready to start the season.

I agree with Law replacing Webster, and Seau replacing Alexander. Richardson might very well replace Webster.

Spann makes the team. He seems to have new life under Capers. Whose spot he takes? I predict Eric Alexander.

I think there have been a lot of times. We've only had 8 lb's. I'm just
thinking that with a couple of rookies that we carry a vet for that 9th
slot.

Thank god first game is Thursday. Even if it's only pre-season.
Been a long off-season. And, we didn't get to enjoy what looked to be
one the best seasons for any team in any sport ever.

I think we'll be seeing Mr. Spann. Call him my dark horse.

Do we need a 9th? I guess it's 9 LB's if I count Izzo as a LB.
BTW, this LB crew will be a team strength.

OLB: Vrabel, Thomas, Woods, Crable
ILB: Bruschi, Mayo, Hobson, Seau

Great job....we are seep and stacked.

I would put Spann and Wilhite in place of Alexandar and Webster. Guyton could beat out Izza, but he would really have to show a lot in pre-season.

Otherwise, inuries & IR will mean some of the talent you hate to see leave, back on the team - of course, whoever they replace will hurt even worse.

I think we need the 8th linebakcer, Alexander or Seau.

Also, Neal and Wright are strong possibilities for the PUP list with no roster replacements, freeing up two roster spots.

And in the end, I do expect Wilhite to make this team. My "dream", as I said in the first post, is to sign Law and Seau to replace Webster and Alexander. I think that Izzo is staying. Wilhite would be in the #54 to make the team if someone is put on the PUP list or the IR.

.

GET YOUNGER ON DEFENSE

1) Neal is on the PUP.

2) Faulk has a four game suspension.

3) Kaczur suspended? .......... I assume not for now.

4) Week Four is our bye week.

So, for the first 5 weeks (and 6 days), we have two additional open spots. After that, it drops to one additional spot for 9 weeks (Neal -PUP). So, you can add five (and remove Faulk and Neal) to your list ........ mine are:

BJ GEllis TB
V. Redd (or Alexander/Aiken/Ruud)
Wilhite
Richardson
Izzo

Other:

ILBers in a 3-4 (Mike) are hard to find. I'm reading mixed opinions on Hobson. So, don't assume Hobson makes the conversion to ILB ......... If he does, we'd have to say that we got lucky in finding him. I'd rather take a STs mayven like ILB Alexander than a conversion "project". Especially, if we don't have room for Aiken/Alexander/Ruud. Hobson must complete the greater majority of his conversion in training camp. Otherwise, what are we going to do with him?

The ninth OLman can be left on the PS. I want to get younger and faster, forget Seau - he gets tired and slower in the fourth quarter - not a good situation. Additionally, if we also put the the seventh DLman on the PS then we could gain another open (sixth slot). By game 5, we might have had a player or two placed on the IR, hopefully not. In any case, some position decisions could be deferred until then.
