Default Welkers "PRICE" Just Went UP!

Not only is having a career year going to drive up Welker's price tag, but with Taylor Price getting cut and Ocho being a bust so far, how could the Pats feel good about being able to replace Welker in FA or the Draft based on their track record?

Welker is not only Brady's Binky, but he has been very durabile considering how much action comes his way. He represents everything you want in a Patriot player. I hope BB doesn't think he can replace him so easily like he has tried to do with some of our other clutch players in the past.

Wes isn't going anywhere except Lucas Oil Stadium in February.

Lock him up for the next 10 years. Even on crutches he'll outproduce anyone else we will ever have.

DeSean Jackson is having a bad year in part because of his uncertain contract, we are told.

David Krejci of the Bruins was troubled by his uncertain contract status until recently, we are told.

And good old Wes just keeps trucking on.

The moral, as always: Wes Welker freaking rocks!!!!!!!

I think Welker was going to be locked up long term regardless. His game isn't based on pure speed, so as long as he doesn't turn into a Wayne Chrebet concussion machine, and has no serious injuries to his legs that take away his cutting ability, he should be able to play well into his mid thirties.

I would have no problem locking him up long term.

I am sure they will lock him up and I hope they bring in someone to streach the field and take some pressure off Welker and open things up for Gronk and Hernadez

if they want to keep brady happy, they will re-sign welker. i can't see this team letting brady's binky go for a second time.

I don't see Wes as being the type that wants to break the bank. I think he realizes what he has here and loves it.

But I also think the Pats won't low-ball him.

You must be confusing price with a WR who made the active roster with some regularity, or even caught some balls. The Patriots cutting their #5 WR will have little to no bearing on Welker's market value, since they can (and did) go and get a better player than Price for the minimum.
