Default The O Line lost this game

Ok. Blame the D if you'd like, but we knew the D would have trouble after the release of Bodden and the IR of Dowling.

I expected a shootout with lots of points scored.
If you had told me going into the game that the Steelers would score 25, I would have said that we would win.

Look at the O Line play, Volmer was a turnstyle.
Mankins and Volmer both had 2 false starts and I believe Light had another.
Volmer's feet looked like he was trying to move in quicksand.

The O Line flat out sucked against the Steelers and Brady got banged around and chased and sacked on a regular basis.

Each penalty by the O line took us out of a favorable down & distance in to a passing play and made it easier for the D to send the blitz.

The D wasn't great, but we should have been able to make plays if the O line hadn't stunk out loud.

BTW - Was it my imagination or did it look like the Steelers Oline was allowed to hold and facemask on every play?
Also, the refs allowed too much crap with late hits after the whistle and they were very lucky that a full fledged brawl didn't break out during the game.

The OL didn't have a very good day. And it always starts and ends in the trenches.

I didn't notice the OL holding as much as I noticed our WR's getting literally mauled well past the chuck rule limit... We might have been better served to switch to man as a result... We played like a team that lost ground/momentum over it's bye on both sides of the ball...

Uh, no...the D lost this game.

Yeah the offense wasn't great but we were going up against one of the best defenses in the league, trouble is expected. The defense is absolutely terrible, one of the worst I've ever seen.

Coaching lost the game. Steelers make O-Lines look not as good as they are.
That Brady fumble at the end wasn't on the O-Line

That Brady fumble at the end also did not have any impact whatsoever in the outcome of the game.

I can't agree that the O line lost the game.
The entire team played a major role in this loss. Starting with defering to the second half. With this defense? I'd much rather have Brady out there right away, getting into a rythem. Instead, he sat for just about the entire 1st quarter, this after a 2 week break.

Out coached, out tackled, out hustled. Out worked. A total team loss (even though the O line was bad, as the false start penalties indicate)

If the offense could have been on the field they could have started picking apart the Steelers' defense. Since the defense decided to let Pittsburgh have 78 plays over and a 20 minute time of possession advantage the offense never had a chance to develop any kind of rhythm. This is an excellent O-line and they didn't cost us the game yesterday.

Was Solder hurt? He's been playing great this year, and now that Volmer is healthy, they put him in for Solder. Volmer sucked yesterday. Was that just a BB decision, or is Solder hurt?

The defense gave up 23 points and put us in a position to score 7.

The offense (not counting the gimmee) scored 10 points and gave up 2.
=============================================

Please grade the defense and the offense. Which of them did them did their jobs?
==============================================

The offense was seriously outmatched by a defense playing without 3 linebackers for the entire game, and with Woodley for half a game.

The defense didn't force a single punt. Nuff said.
