Default The Sports Reporters Show Today: 100% for Suspending Belichick

Except moderator John Saunders, who didn't express an opinion. It's on again at 12:30 eastern on ESPN News.

Mitch Albom wanted him suspended for the "new' information and tapes from Walsh, despite the fact that it was already known that BB had admitted to taping since the beginning of his Patriots tenure.

There's nothing quite like staying on top of the news.

I know. It just isn't good that these well known reporters (although no Lupica or Ryan today) are pounding the drum for suspension. They did point out on the show that Goodell said, or implied, that the punishment was inclusive of what had been admitted, but they're jumping on the new offensive practices taping.

Maybe the strategy by NE to ignore and refuse to grant access to ESPN is the reason for the half truths and lies from ESPN.

Maybe this is not such a good idea?

Don't think the two are related. ESPN's lack of Pats access to this point has only meant no BB or Pioli interview during the draft coverage.

This show, the Sports Reporters, consists of columnists from around the country, guys who have no connection to ESPN (like Albom from the Detroit Free Press or Rhoden from the NY Times). They just assemble a group and the columnists give their opinions. ESPN has no editorial control on this particular show.

Wait until the season. The Patriots will be up to bat then. It's like the top of the first.

No connection? Um, are they paid by ESPN? Would you know who they are without ESPN?

Would you like to again tell me that one or are going to try and sell me a bridge?

The show is not produced by ESPN like everything else that goes on their air. It's a different situation.

This is the longest %##$ pregame show in history!

By time the season starts the spin doctors will have the entire nation believing Belichick flew the planes into the World Trade Center and parachuted to safety just before impact.

The storm of factless columns is just overwhelming. At what point does Mr. Kraft start defending himself against being a permanent pinata?

Rhoden and Album are two of the most obnoxious, judgmental twits on TV (shame Lupica wasn't there, it would have been a flawless triumvirate of sanctimonious douchebaggery). Album should stick to writing about people you meet in heaven and Rhoden...well, I don't know what the fukc this guy is known for except being a NY homer and showing up on Sports Reporters (I use the term loosely)...either way, the reason they are brought on the show is specifically because they find fault and have an opinion on EVERYTHING without knowing ***** about the subject. If anyone out there gets HBO, I thought this weeks Costas Now was an absolutely spectacular send up of modern sports "journalism" (again loosely used) as there was a huge amount of discussion on sports "blogs" (douchebloggery?), ESPN, sensationalist journalism, adversarial journalism, the growth of opinion based radio and call in shows, etc. Patrick, Buck, Tirico, and a lot of others were on talking, and I thought it was one of the most interesting self reflective pieces I've seen on sports and sports journalism in a long time. Well worth watching imo and shines a much more interesting light on these kinds of drive-by media (ha!) programs and reporters.
