If brains were dynamite, condom 84 couldn't blow his nose.
BTW shmessy and Rob
You guys are 100% correct on McFadden. About 500 Raiders fans in my section knew exactly what was happening and were @#$(*&^about it.
Can someone please explain to this imbecile that games are won by scoring points and holding your opponent to 13 points is going to win games.
The "Black Hole" has more Einsteins than patsfans.com.
Please don't judge this website based on Condon (or D-Money or Patsfan1982).
As you noted, most of us saw the exact same thing throughout the game regarding the McFadden strategy that the folks in the stadium saw.
And most of us also know the LONGTIME Belichick strategy of taking away an opponent's strength and letting the weak link put up the big numbers. Though it isn't 100%, it has worked the vast majority of the time and has resulted in the Patriots having the best won-loss percentage (the stat that MEANS SOMETHING, Condon) this century.
Obviously, the fans in the stadium realized it to their chagrin early on in the game and had to suffer watching it be implemented beautifully.
Some day, Condon may want to actually learn about this man, Belichick. But hey, we always graciously accept the Pink Hats coming over each year after the Sox season.

Shmessy: The issue with BB to me is not giving away both safeties for zilch. I could not care less if he got middling picks that some (not me) felt were there for the taking. The issue is that he did not have capable replacements. Why Sanders is gone is a mystery to me. Please, no replies about cap space, We have plenty. Bill must be delusional about Sergio et. al.
I dunno how anyone can seriously disagree with you there. So far, Barrett and Brown have been ******* terrible, and that wasn't exactly hard to see coming. We easily had the cap space to keep one of Sanders/Meriweather as an insurance policy, even if we intended to play Brown/Barrett ahead of them at the outset. I can't imagine anyone arguing that Tarpinian's roster spot wouldn't have been better spent keeping an experienced starter around while the Brown/Barrett experiment had a test run.

First, I never disputed the Pats strategy of taking the other teams strength. We all know that's what BB's defenses do. Secondly, I also never questioned whether this strategy has worked for us before so please don't put things in my mouth, I haven't done that to you.
My argument was the fact that you think the way the game played out was exactly how BB envisioned it down to Campbell throwing that INT in the endzone. I'm sure some aspects of how the game played out how BB envisioned it, but I don't think his plan included the Raiders gaining over 500 yards of offense, having Campbell throw us a gift etc. I'm sure he preferred for us to get off on third downs more consistently.
Our defense has not played well. They have a lot of areas that they can improve on. That's my opinion. It has made enough plays to help the offense and the team reach it's 3-1 mark, and that's the bottom line. But there's a long way to go with our defense.
You dismissing stats, throwing other stuff on the wall that had nothing to do with the argument is where you come off as a nutjob.

I fully agree.

I've said all along that BB screwed up our defense royally by jettisoning Sanders and Merriwether for nothing in return, creating a huge whole in the secondary/middle of the the field.
The Defense on Sunday without Mayo much of the game, no Dowling/Haynesworth/Wright/Bodden, and Chung playing with a cast, played to the best of it's ability.
The remaining personnel executed the gameplan BEAUTIFULLY - - on the West Coast - - against an offense that had been averaging over 30 points per game (and had hung up 38 points the week before against the Jets). They stayed within themselves and didn't try to do anything outside of their ability.
Anyone who expected a defensive beatdown by that squad in that situation is delusional or ignorant of the game of football. That was an optimal performance by that particular Defense.
This ain't the '85 Bears, or even the Pats D of recent memory.
