ProFootballWeekly.com - Patriots sign draft picks Carter, Smith

Smith (pick 159) got a signing bonus of $171,480 [sic].
Markell Carter (pick 194) got a signing bonus of $94,000.

By comparison, in 2010:

Zoltan (pick 150) got a signing bonus of $187,500.
Ted Larsen (pick 205) got a signing bonus of $80,300.

In other words, not vast changes from what we saw in 2010.

OTOH, remember that their base salary is $375K for 2011, as opposed to $320K last year.

The rookie wage scale in regards to those #'s provided by ct show that the Rookie Wage Scale is still wrong.

The best 53 make the roster. That could as easily be 4 TEs/4 RBs as 3 TEs/5 RBs, especially if they go with the four young'uns.
