Default They Let Brady Down - All About The Snap Count

We Would have won yesterday ... no doubt in my mind if just one coach or 1 player would have pulled Brady aside and talked to him about the snap count. He was under such pressure yesterday ... scrutinizing everything he was seeing across the line that he was forgetting to vary his cadence and/or the snap count. I don't fault tom for this .. it happens ... and it will happen again even to him.

All 2nd and 3rd quater I said to my wife it looks like the Giants were in our huddle. They had at least 75% of all the snap counts and cadences down pat. They gained initial leverage on almost every snap. When Brady went to the no huddle, he had a few more seconds to look over the defense and you could see him varying the cadence and snap. The Giants did not explode off the line and we scored a touchdown. They also did not explode off the line in the 1st quater when Tom was a bit more relaxed.

That nobody reminded Tom yesterday baffles me. too bad really because I am sure he would have thanked whomever would have talked to him about it. I'm also very sure we could have scored at least 1 extra TD if they had. Just my opinion ... I feel bad for the guys today ... they were still the greatest this year even though they came 3 points short.

I raised this question in another thread....
I admit I'm not an expert, but it seems like their overall cadence was very rarely different than the rest of the season.

Now.... I understand the argument that you don't want to risk false starts by changing things on everyone, and perhaps conservative thinking is that new snap counts are gimmicks that won't work.

Why not mix things up more? Why not try a few "fake audible" plays where Brady goes under center sooner? It seemed that the offense had a very predictable cadence all season long, and maybe that finally caught up to them?

I'm just hoping that BB will learn everything to be learned from the game film and will prevent us from making any coaching mistakes that might cost us a big game.

This is the year. We put our failures in the past, it's a new year, a new defense. It's time to prove to the league that the Patriots are back and aren't going anywhere and they will be the last ones standing in Feb.
Update: Well that didn't work out as I had planned. Next year baby, next year 19-0 we go. Next year.

that's what I said after the 2007 AFC CG loss to colts. Look what that got us ?

Couldve been our 5th SB win !

I think you are on to something. This makes a lot of sense to me. I don't know what adjustment needed to be made, but all I've heard since the game is that the Giants just whipped NE up front. This isn't a good enough explanation. The best OL in the NFL all year, and suddenly they're getting dominated worse than any team the Giants had played in weeks, if not since they played the Eagles.
LOL, not sure we need to get into conspiracy theories, but they somehow sure knew what was up and seized the opportunity - an opportunity that possibly NEVER should have been there.

The Big Show is discussing this now. I think they want to talk to Brady or BB about this.

The inability of the offensive line to block was because Brady forgot about changing snap counts and the line and coaches were too shy to remind him?

SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is ridiculous! The Pats OL has never been great against speed. They are much more effective against power, not speed. This is why lines like the Colts, Giants and even Philly gave them trouble this year - SPEED!

It has nothing to do about snap counts and Tom's foot in the shotgun etc...it is all bogus!
