Was just watching Jay Feeley and Skip on 1st and 10, and they were talking about Plax's comments.
They mentioned 3 years ago, the Eagles were already planning a victory parade before the Super Bowl(or something like that), and BB used it as motivation.
Aside from FredEx's comments calling out the Pats' secondary, what else did the Eagles do that fueled the fire?

Although, it doesn't really matter what they do or don't say. It is BB's job to get the players fired up for the game. Trash talking only makes BB's job easier. He'd still do it, talk or no talk.
its on the 2004 '3 games to glory' DVD. belicek is reading something to the team, maybe a philly newspaper, detailing their post super bowl parade plans/schedule
I wish the Globe hadn't run a story about the planning for the Pats' victory parade.
oh... i'm sure this wil sink the pats... i'm sure BB planned the parade or ordered it.
this is the most ridiculous concoction in football. i think it has no bearing on game day. you are not going to play any harder. the only bearing it might have is in preparation. it may make the team more focused in preparing

The stuff on the 3 games to glory CD is hilarious. It's basically BB addressing the team in the hotel before the game. He's very deadpan, and he tells the team, "I just thought you might like to know about the parade being planned in Philadelphia," and then he goes into detail about the route that the parade will take. "You might like to know that at 11:15, the vehicles carrying the players will pass by the Liberty Bell" or something like that.
Hard to believe he would have gone to that trouble if he didn't think it might be at least a little bit effective.
Then again, it's not like the Patriots came out and did very much in the first 20 minutes of the game anyway.

I think it helps focus during the week, but if you can't put out 100% DURING the game and you need bulletin board material then as player you got issues.

The difference was (and the reason he could use it as he did) we were the defending champs returning for back to back Superbowls. The Eagles had never won a damn thing, and their plans went beyond the kind of offhanded comments Mumbles made. The Eagles FO and local pols were planning the minute details of a parade. Eagles fans were also heavily in attendance (the insufferable Fly Eagles Fly was the song of the day) and the media was fairly fauning over Donovan and TO. I remember think less of Jaws after that, he went straight homer for his Iggles and it was nonsense. Bill used that little parade gem as the opening to his pre game comments. I believe that one ended with Do your job, and if you do tonight you will be champions again.
