4 interceptions by Brady for a season is the most impressive stat that he accomplished this year...
That is a 1.2 % intercepted... not sure where that stands all time, but has to be close to the top.
I think it is actually 0.8% for an interception rate. 4 Ints / 492 Att = 0.813.

" FO_ASchatz Tom Brady finishes season with 9.0 TD-INT ratio, beating previous record of 6.25 held by... Tom Brady. No other QB ever above 6.0."

Felger and Bingo were discussing this relative to his best season last night. Despite the 50 TD's in 2007 they both felt this was his best season because absent the riskier deep threat option he fed well that season he reverted to using his best asset, his brain, this season. He can go toe to toe with the big arms, but why bother when what has always seperated him from them is his ability to do all the other things better than anyone (read the defense, see the field, throw with accuracy, make good decisions under pressure, take what the opposition gives you...lead teamates and elevate their performances with an uncanny balance of poise and passion).
It just underscores how poorly performances are assessed across the board when you consider he's been in the league 11 years, played 9 full seasons as a starter and only been selected to the pro bowl 6 times and as the starter only a couple of times and only a pair of all pros nods (just one first team...) and until now only one league MVP selection... It underscores that football mediots don't know a GOAT when they see one...
Watching a $100M veteran QB like Carson Palmer just fall apart (and look befuddled at his own ineptitude) in the crunch last night with a win right there for the taking because he's never worked on his game and his mechanics and the little things just underscores that so called measurables at the position are just the tip of the iceberg. They can all throw the damn ball at this level, it's when and where and they throw it consistently and why that seperates the great ones from the marginally and even supposedly wildly talented or merely prolific ones...
As much as I hate to say it, agree with Felger also.. thought he played off the charts all season.. not only on the field, but on the sidelines as well, remember a couple of times calling his teammates out.. quite vocally.
He also learned to rely on tight ends, after some lean TE years, and they combined for 19 of the 36 TD passes.. very impressive.
This may be the Offense that BB was trying to get to for a while now..

Whats interesting is that from 2000-2006, BB drafted one, sometimes two TEs every draft. From 2007-2009, he didn't draft any. Does seem like he's gone back to his original philosophy.

True. I'm sure there was some complaining. But I do think that the receivers I mentioned learned early on from their coach and their HoF QBs the offense functions better when everyone is a threat.
We don't know if Randy ever really got that here.
