Default Deion Sanders: Smart Commentator?

I was just watching the NFLN pregame show. While Matt Millen, Joe Theisman, and Steve Marriucci, and Marshall Faulk were trying to explain Peyton's struggles by using injuries as an excuse, Deion interrupts and says "WHY DO WE HAVE TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR THIS GUY EVERY TIME HE PLAYS LIKE GARBAGE?!" While the other commentator sticking to their guns, Deion went on to say that Peyton Manning is the least sacked quarterback in the league and still has an All-pro receiver in Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon who everyone thought was great last year.

He then went on to ask the others what Tom had that the others didn't. The exchange went like this:

Theisman: Deion Branch
Deion: He's 60
Marriucci: Woodhead
Deion: He's 12
Milen: Gronkowski and Hernandez
Deion: Rookies

Good to see someone saying what Patriots fans have been saying all along. Must be that FSU education.

Deion is USUALLY an idiot, but he had a brief moment of clear thinking tonight!

Unlike Marshall Faulk, who (SURPRISE, SURPRISE) really likes the Bears at home and expects their defense to give Tom Brady and the Patriots a whole lot of problems!

That may be true, but Marshall should just admit his hate for the Pats. It's beyond embarrassing.

That last part is funny as hell. Woodhead, he's 12. Priceless.

Deion loves Brady and calls out Manning when nobody else will.

Yep, I don't always appreciate Deion, but he definitely runs against the current in his admiration of TFB. Good on him!

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

What gets me is everyone mentions that the Bears are the #3 defense, giving up only 16 points per game, and it will be a test for New England. Want to guess who number #2 is? Pittsburgh with 15.9, what did NE put up on them, 39?

I know there is no direct correlation, but it isn't like NE is scoring bunches of points on bad teams.

Marshall Faulk would pick the Carolina Panthers, if they were playing the Pats in Foxboro and all had pneumonia.
