The Indianapolis Colts already expect Dwight Freeney not to play for several weeks because of a left foot injury, but now there's reason to believe the Pro Bowl defensive end's season might be over.

Though more tests have to be completed for the team to make a final determination, a source said Tuesday that Freeney might have suffered a Lisfranc injury in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. If additional tests verify the initial diagnosis of the midfoot injury, the source said Freeney will need season-ending surgery.

Players who have suffered Lisfranc injuries, even those not needing surgical repair, have needed months to rehabilitate.

Even though he is the enemy, it sucks to see a player of his caliber injured. Good luck.

We all have fun with the trash talk, but I think the dominant sentiment on this board is that we never want to see injuries.

Good luck, Dwight. Hope you are healthy next year and we kick your butt again.

It's probably in the best interest of the player and the team to get this done sooner rather than later.

I don't like Dungy and that's because he [was] the head coach of the Colts. Period. End of question. The degree to which I like a player or coach is predicated solely on the color of the laundry they wear on Sunday. When fans admit this and stop bashing players and coaches for any other reason, the world of sports will be infinitely improved.

I know you guys think I hate the pats , I dont. I love the pats. I just am calling it like I see it with Maroney ( to this point)

...AAAAND the Colts now have their excuse for the rest of the year.
We'll hear this excuse about a thousand times before the season is over.

Kansas City has just seen thier best chance to finally win in Indy come true.

I think they legitimately have a good chance this sunday, especially if Holmes or LJ runs thru that decimated line all day.
