Default NFL Matchup

Was watching this on ESPN this morning. Both jaws and hoge breaking down film. They showed last yrs chargers game and how SD moved their LB's moved around and confused and harrassed brady into hurried throws. I hope our o line plays better today although i havent seen much of dallas if they play the same style.
One thing which stood out was that we didnt try to run the ball at all. Iam sure BB thinks its a waste of time against this defense so thats why he went pass happy. Would be interesting to see if he tries to run at least a little bit early.

last year at SD is night and day with the wr's. By seeing how the Pats passing attack is now and how it was then just shows how the wr's couldn't get separation. I will also say it is tough to run against SD and Jamal Williams had a busted wing when the Pats dismantled them. Now that the Pats have very good wr's the Chargers can't matchup.

The thing that I thought was interesting on Matchup was how Antonio Pierce basically listened to the Pennington's calls and adjusted the front 7 right to where the Jets were trying to run.

Basically I'm wondering how he knows Pennington's signals and calls. Isn't that cheating? but Jaws says it's studying film. does film have the cadences and qb calls?

They play the same defense as SD and their LBs have greatly benefited from the change. Bradie James especially was an awful two gap 3-4 LB but in this defense he's very good.

However they don't have a great NT like Williams in SD or Wilfork here and Spencer and Ware can be exploited on the edge as they lose contain often. So I don't think we'll abandon the run as we have against SD and Pitt who play similar defenses in the past but I still think we'll spread them out to give our RBs space.

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

I saw that.

Let's see... We had really no running game. Dillon old. Maroney hurt. We had a horrible WR corp.

They pressured Brady all day......moved LB's around. AND LOST.

Both their rushing lb's(merriman and phillips) wore down in the second half and left the game at times. It was ironic that the so called rested team wore down. Maybe a sign of experience, essentially outpunching themselves and once the adrenalin wore off they fatugued big time.

wasnt the Cowboys NT injured. ?About the LB's i think ware better than merriman. I dont think SD brought their corners and safties up in that game so even with better WR's i think they will have to deal with a cover 2 defense consistently.

Jason Ferguson is on IR and he's a decent player but I think he's in his mid thirties at this point and he was a 4-3 DT for most of his career.
